Alright guys I want to share my fraternity story. Yes I am in one for starters. I am an junior at Virginia Tech and I am in FIJI. I am a computer engineer, I have a 3.7 overall GPA and I don't get smashed every night of the week. I didn't do it until my sophmore year because I had my doubts, but I really have enjoyed it. There are plenty of fraternities that do all that sh*t that people have mentioned, but you just have to find the right one. I don't wear pink polos and I don't pop my collar, some of the guys do but they are definitely the minority.

Is the FIJI chapter your in very secretive? The FIJI chapter at UW is. Also you aren't even considered if your parents don't make at least $200k a year.

FIJI at UMD isn't much like that at all.

So do you guys have that week long party that only comes by once in four years? I forget what it's called.

I'm not in FIJI (I'm part of PKT), I'm just friends with a few brothers there and they don't seem any more secretive than other fraternity brothers.

Our chapter has secrets just like all the others, but I really don't think we're anything cloak and dagger. I honestly don't know much about the other FIJI chapters in the country, so I couldn't tell you what they are like. And no here at VT they are not rich as hell.

Back when I was still in school, everyone affiliated with a frat or sorority referred to non affiliates as a GDI or God damned Independent.

The purpose of a fraternity is to be able to haze pledges for three years after you make it in and to have free janitorial services for the next three years.

When I mean haze, I dont mean the typical hazing. I mean doing stuff like making them do incredibly silly things that make you laugh or make them do hard physical labor like scrub and then wax the floors of a 4 story frat house.

i second that...

WTF school do you go to where people have cash to fix computers?
