If this is true (which i doubt, like any sane person would) they are gone... the EU does not look between the fingers when it comes to treson... they will be chased until they are either dead or captured...

I'll believe it when it becomes the No. 1 story just about everywhere - as it surely would if true.

Cheers,

i can't really say i believe anything bill gertz says until there's some independent corroboration, so it will be interesting to see how this story develops.

The French are at it again. It's time we put these cheese-eating socialists in their place. International diplomatic isolation (a la North Korea) is in order.

Hate to pop your bubble there, buddy. But France and NK are different beasts, France has many supporters in EU including Russia.

first off, russia isn't in the EU. And with the size of their economy being equal to the netherlands, their only influence is their nuclear arsenal. France can be isolated internationally. Maybe not in the EU, but outside of it. Look at the level of chatter from france pre-Iraqi Freedom and post-Iraqi Freedom.

If this is true, then we should have a serious talk with Chirac.

I didnt mean to say Russia was in the EU, I know it wasnt... you know it wasnt.

America is one country, maybe the most powerful and influential country... but one country. Most of the world agrees with France's stance on the war, so how exactly do we isolate them? Hell, we're probably more isolated than they are.

My take on this is, "screw the with us or against us crap". Just do it the old fashion way and work our differences out through diplomacy, isolationism is back in the Cold War... and thats long over.

most of the world agreed with france but for different reasons. Most of the world did not see iraq as a terrorist-sponsoring state with WMD like we saw them (as a threat). Furthermore, the french had ulterior motives in opposing the United States (to re-ignite the "greatness" of france, as said by french foreign minister, via strenghtening the security council and EU).
