Frames Drop it BF2:SF?

I noticed it ever since I've had Special Forces. The expansion just doesn't seem to play like the regular BF2. Not every map I play can I notice the drop in frames but Warlord and I think also the night maps deliver a larger hit it seems.

Does anyone know why this happens. It's not just me, I've talked to my other clan members about it (they mostly have Nvidia) and it happens to them too. So ATI or Nvidia alike, there is still a performance hit. My only question is if there is anything to resolve it or why does it happen?

personally i think the sf maps aren't as visually impressive as the default bf2 maps, I did notice somewhat of a slower performace in that map on second thought.

My guess is the game uses more shading effects in SF than regular Bf2.

It must. Something slows it down.

Has anyone heard of any solid reasons though? And if so, how could you gain performance without doing the obvious turning AA off and AF and so forth?

BF2: SF was made by Dice Canada so therefore its not going to be as optimized as BF2 which was made by Dice Sweden (anyone remeber BF Vietnam?). My framerate is definetly lower in SF than vanilla BF2 because this is most likely the culprit.

Ah, so the games structured engine was remade and constructed through Canada and therefore presents some changes to how the game plays?

I did not know that.

I still can't believe that it only happens with Warlord. It's very similar to Karkand. I can understand the night maps a little bit but why Warlord?

probably just weaker programming regarding the map, funny thing is that the map isn't even that graphically detailed, yet doesn't run as fast as the others
