Frame Rate Test Programs

Can someone advise me on what program to run to test frame rate when playing games like BF3, COD, Crysis, will it appear on screen in game or will they just log to a file..?

In bf3 to see your frames u just hit " ~ " (located just before the number 1 at the top of your keyboard) then type " render.drawfps 1 ". Your fps will show in the top right hand corner. If you want to turn it off type " render.drawfps 0 ". The easy tool to use is a program called Fraps, although I hear it can hurt performance while in use. Its definitely easy to use though.

To do it in crysis, hit the ~ key, then type r_displayinfo 1, enter

In cod I think it is ...... ~, then cg drawfps 1, enter. Not too sure cause its been so long.

Anyhow, fraps is a good program to use too.
