I think in a sense monitor choice comes down to preference.

A TN panel will be cheap with very little ghosting, but will have terrible color reproduction and very bad viewing angles.

An IPS panel will be more expensive with more ghosting, but will have great color reproduction and much better viewing angles.

That monitor at newegg looks alright, but I'll bet it is a TN panel. To me, if you're an FPS gamer you should focus on black level performance and ghosting if you want to get the most frags. Like I said, Sharp seems to make the best screens in this regard. They say that their black levels match that of plasmas which is very good.

SickBeast...

I have not seen any reviews of Sharp products to be used as a computer monitor. Do you know of any links to reviews comparing Sharps to others we are all familiar with?

I'm leaning to the HP LP2475w, the BenQ G2400WD, the Dell 2408WFP, the Samsung 2233RZ, and the Samsung 2443BWX.

The Acer G24, the Asus MK41H, and the Hanns-G HG281DPB have all had some decent reviews, but more unfavorable ones.

Here is a link to a 32" model that does 1080P.

It got an average of 4.5/5 with over 90 customer reviews. Many used it as their PC monitor and seemed quite happy.

I'll tell you that I love gaming on my 46" Sharp Aquos.
