I don't believe Ron Paul is a 9/11 conspiracy theorist, and anyone who characterizes him as such is being intellectually dishonest.

I do believe Paul is wrong, and I don't like the way he tries to tie a military base in Saudi Arabia to 9/11, thereby creating the impression that he is blaming America for 9/11.

And what's with the Fox bamacre? I thought you didn't watch such trash? It seems the only folks around here who actually watch Fox or Fox News are the lefties and loons which should be avoiding it.

So you're scanning YouTube for Fox/Fox News material?

Seems to me that's a distinction with no difference. ;)

How can you deny the fact that we have military on land in which they perceive to be holy, and that this angers those people.

It is our foreign policy that angers these people, and it plays a very significant role in their reasons for attacking us. This is not opinion, Pabster, this is fact. The CIA says this, and they use the term blowback. Look it up. Read the 911 Commission Report.

Remove the merit from their reasons, get our military off their lands.

If we don't change this policy we'll end up in a never-ending circle-jerk of war, just like Israel and the Palestinians, where one side says "we attack you because you occupy our lands," and the other side says, "we occupy your lands because you attack us."

We don't want that. We don't need to be on and occupy their lands. So we need to bring those troops home, take the merit out of their reasons. Significantly lower their recruitment. We need to do this, and we need to do it before it is too late. It is not only the safer thing to do, it is the cheaper thing to do, and it is the right thing to do.

No, Pabster, I was initially searching for your brain, but I got a 404 error, then I decided to search for the Ron Paul TownHall meeting, and came across this instead.

Maybe he IS a 9-11 conspiracy theorist...and MAYBE he's right. Personally, I wouldn't put it past GWB & Darth Cheney to so something like this...with the help of the Mossad...:D

The point is that Wahabism almost amounts to the national religion of Saudi Arabia, these Wahabist beliefs are hundreds of years old, and for us to be blundering around stepping on these taboos simply shows that Ron Paul knows something GWB&co and Rudy Giuliani are dangerously ignorant of.

How this discredits Ron Paul simply eludes me. More Fox news BS that only cynically panders to the ignorance of its viewers.

And as we found out and keep finding out, what we don't know can hurt us.

You didn't watch the video at the OP's link. It includes footage where Paul specifically says exactly the opposite.

I disagree with too much of Ron Paul's economic ideas to vote for him, but I like a lot of his personal honesty and his distaste for the Bushwhackos' war of LIES. Under no circumstances do I think Faux should be allowed to abuse their public platform to spread such malicious lies about any candidate.

Faux Noise is a turd in the punchbowl of life.

No Harvey, I DIDN"T watch the video...I'm not a Paulbot...why would I really care one way or another what he thinks?

I'm not a Paulbot, either, but he should stand or fall based on his own views. What Faux Noise and their venom spewing hate machine did to him isn't fair to any honest candidate, regardless of whether I agree with him.

I am not a paulbot either, but not only is it unfair, intellectually dishonest, but its also hazardous to the health of the American people. As almost 3000 innocent people found out on 911.

And for every time Fox does something unfair -- and I already said it was -- I can find you an example from CNN, NBC, MSNBC, et al. of them being unfair to someone else...perhaps someone you don't have such a favorable opinion of.

--AnandTech Moderator Opined:--

No, you can't. You can find factual errors on any of the MSM outlet, but I defy you to match any of them, or for that matter, almost all of them combined, for the sheer depth and quantity of their dishonesty of virtually everything on their airwaves.

"Sheer depth and quantity" is a highly subjective term.

The fact remains: The United States has been sitting with Saudi Arabia for oil and military presence. At the same time, the U.S is waging a war on Islamic terrorism. This is odd, because Saudi Arabia is a blatant financier of anti-Israeli and Islamic extremist groups. Hell, Al Qaeda training camps have been found on the edges of SA via satellite.

You can't have a war on terror while throwing billions of dollars at a country know to support islamic terrorism.

So if you expand on this fact, you can say the United States is indirectly paying for resources that kill Western soldiers and allies *cough* Iraq *cough*.

Get it?

This really has nothing to do with Bush, as Clinton and the guys before him all slept with Saudi Arabia.

More sensationalist garbage from Fox. Ron Paul's out of mainstream ideas are a real threat to the establishment. He has no real chance of winning but he could become a special interest candidate who succeeds in getting ideas out in the public discourse. So logically the route for Murdoch is to marginalize Paul as early and fully as possible. His favorite candidates are surely authoritarian Guiliani and if a Democrat must win, than nanny Hillary.

The first one here that tells me about Völkischer Beobachter wins a cookie.

Understand, if all of us have seen this and just accept it, to hell with Ron Paul or any other candidate. If you accept your major media outlets reporting OUTRIGHT LIES you are inviting some troubling elements into your lives. Simple misquotes and failed fact checks happen, but everyone here regardless of political affiliation or beliefs can see NEWS being reported that is patently and knowingly false.
