WI recently passed an exemption from sales and use taxes for data centers. MS appears to be spending the minimum amount, fifty million dollars, to qualify for an exemption.how does WI handle taxing DC's?

States feel like they have to compete with other states that have no sales tax.And of course they are doing the minimum.
Why States choose to race to the bottom is beyond my understanding.
Microsoft says it will invest $1.4 billion at the site. Seems like it might happen. Mount Pleasant is in proximity to large urban areas so a data center is a reasonable use.And of course they are doing the minimum.
