Very tempted to buy one of these; so cute would make a nice ivy bridge linux box; but I just can't see how I would use yet antoher computer. I mean I can barely keep the ones I already have busy (even if they are not as spiffy).

No overclocking. It is the H61 chipset, after all.

It can only handle low profile and single slot.

The PSU does not have a PCIe power plug and is only 200W.

FWIW the PSU is a TFX size. The best PSU available in that size at this time are a pair of SeaSonic 350W units that are 80Plus Gold certified. The difference is that one is modular and one is not. SPCR and HardOCP reviewed the modular version (of course). Here's what they had to say about it.

It does have a PCIe x16 slot, but the case and PSU can't support a GTX 460.

Oh i see in the pic. I wonder what I could fit in there. Too bad, if I could have fit a GTX460 with a relatively cheap SB celeron (running SLI right now ;-) ) I would have bit and turned it into an extra SC2/steam gaming system that friends could use when they came over.

A pity it couldn't fit a 7750. There aren't many single slot cards that are a good fit for a HTPC, but that would be the one. Sadly they're not low profile.

Well if hd400 is adequate for your needs then perhaps an i3-3225. The i3-3225 is $120 at micro center; I guess for the $$ you might come out a bit better with $68 and a gpu; but the i3-3225 with hd4000 would use a bit less power and be quite a bit faster; though the gpu might be slower depending on your chosen gpu.

G860 is $68 on Amazon right now.

Hard to recommend any other processor with the G860 at that price.

Two things...
1) Several low profile 7750 on the market. Yes, I own one.
2) Unless you are gaming, no need for GPU power in an HTPC.

3) These have been sold out / discontinued for a little while now and our OP/Moderator should mark it as such! :p

Got mine in, thanks OP!

Just did a couple quick tests - I have a SB i3 with HD3000 and the BIOS recognized 16GB RAM (2x8GB) as well as a DVI to VGA adapter on the onboard graphics. Also both the RM2 and RM3 are listed as "discontinued" now and appear to have been replaced by the $139 RM30-H1 (SATA-III & USB 3.0 added via H67N chipset):

You mean so the people who necro thread won't be disappointed?

Yes, exactly that. Please put "dead" in the title itself, that way people who wish to report on and further discuss the deal can and others won't waste their time. That's been common "hot deals" practice for as long as I can remember. You'd think a mod would know that. ;)

Two things.

First, that "common practice" isn't so common. Looking back through old threads on deals long dead, probably less than 5% of them indicate that the deal is over in the title. Hardly "common."

Second, you are violating rule #13. You'd think a member for over a decade would know that. ;)

What about COURTESY?

Be a helpful poster.
If you think you have a hot deal, give information in the title to describe the deal. Don't just put in a model number without the brand. Also put in the vendor/location of the deal if if you have room in the thread title. Don't make people have to click on the link to find out what you're referring to.

Does this apply to deals being dead? IMHO, it should.

Edit: Just noticed that Zap clearly mentions in the OP, that the deal is dead. Good enough for me. Carry on.
