Here's a review of this particular card (albeit the 512mb version).

Has anyone ever done a foxconn (myrebates411.com) rebate before? They have some pretty weird requirements: write newegg, item #, ID, etc. on back of envelope?

Don't worry the 7900GS is plenty bang for the $$ untill DX10 matures (i.e. uses less power and costs less $$).
