Fox News sinks to new low

Pieces of $hit

I was just watching CNN's Crossfire and the conservative pundit Tucker Carlson explained that Fox News put his home phone number on their webpage yesterday after he played a practical joke (prodded by liberal host Paul Begala) on the Fox News Washington bureau.

Carlson's "joke" caused strife for switchboard operators at a major company. Fox News' "joke" caused strife for Carlson's young children who dealt with screaming, cursing whackos who were furious that anyone would have a laugh at their favorite news channel's expense.

Congrats Fox News on yet another classy move!

I don't care WHAT your differences in opinion are from someone else, you DON'T put their home phone number up like that. I'm with monsta, that's the practice of immature shitheads.

What was Carlson's joke exactly?

Carlson was defending telemarketers saying he didn't need the government to help him deal with them (classic GOOD conservatism IMO). And a viewer emailed Carlson saying he wanted to personally telemarket him some stuff, so Carlson gave out what he said was his home number, which was actually the Fox News Washington bureau mainline.

Now FoxNews changed the article to include the CNN number

Gonad, sure he deserved to get something to get thrown back at him, but is giving out the family home number really appropriate? Including the CNN number does constitute "fair play" so I don't have much problem with that rib.

Yeah, I think in this case it was. I might feel differently if he didn't intentionally create a malicious environment to goad and fool people into angrily calling, but he did. I have very little sympathy for those who go looking for trouble then cry when they find it.

Giving out the home phone number of his family? Now that's just wrong. If they wanted to get him back, his office/work number, or his cell phone would have been good, but to get his family involved?

look, carlson shouldn't have given out fox's number and fox shouldn't have given out carlson's number. he will clearly change his phone number so as far as i am concerned, each party got their jab in and the issue is dead.

Never trust a man in a bowtie. I mean, come on. One thing I can't figure out though - is it possible for Fox News to sink any lower? I didn't think that was possible. 😉

Sounds like he got exactly what he was asking for...

So people cannot see any difference between corporate life and private life?

I hope he finds some law to use to sue them with.

FoxNews put HIS FAMILY IN DANGER.

Do any of you have a young child? I can yell some sh!t at that child that would make him/her HAVE NIGHTMARES FOR YEARS .... BUT FVCK IT!!! THAT IS FAIR AND BALANCED.. RIGHT???

I am sure you can think up some horrible and disgusting sh!t to say in a prank phone call. Do you think these viewers cared whether or not they were yelling at a innocent little children or his wife?

I cannot believe all of you privacy advocates think this is OK :disgust:

That was completely unproffesional of FoxNews to give out Carlson's personal number.
Yes Tucker's joke was in bad taste, but Fox crossed the line by giving away Tucker's phone number.

So tell me, how exactly do you feel about 'advertisers' sending your children ads for viagra, questionable drugs, VERY questionable sex acts, and the like?

By aquiring our contact info, they force themselves into our personal lives too you know.

I feel the same way about it that I feel about Fox giving out Carlsons HOME phone number.

It is BS.. I honestly feel that advertisers should not be allowed to send anything into a home addressed to anyone under 18 - unless they have legally emancipated themselves from the care and "legal responsibility" of their parents!

Don't even get me started concerning Network Television.

Me thinks Fox might be liable for this one. Giving out a bureau number? Thats ok. Someone starts calling my kids and threatening, I go and punch out the lights of the guy who did it. Dont screw with my kids.
