Story link - Fox News edits Wikipedia

C.F. Kane would have loved the internet.....

Are you really so stupid to believe that Fox News has some formal policy/team of "wiki editors"?

Judging from the bigger list of edits that has been posted, yes. Or one, very, very busy guy, take your pick.

It isn't as if there are people who are trolling the net and not working over there too.

I guess this lets DNC operatives off the hook for their edits...

From Shivtya-

I guess this lets DNC operatives off the hook for their edits...

So far, there's only been one edit shown to be traceable to the DNC, with 500 to Faux news alone... and I'm sure there are more to other ultra-conservative sources, as well...

Not only do they filter the news to suit their agenda, they revise and edit history as well.

Kinda like re-classifying information that's been in the public domain for decades, or the infamous "Absolutely not. I never said that" remark from Dick Cheney...

Steven Colbert was right- facts do have a liberal bias, and outfits like Fox News are more than willing to make that plain, over and over again...

Too funny.

You really are obsessed with Fox News, aren't you? What a sad little boy.

You mean I can't post in the threads that I started without being obsessed with FNC? You have been trolling me for two days, get over it buddy.

I think you are making something plural when it should be single at this point. I would be more than willing to jump all over the DNC if they were doing the same thing as Fox is. But at least for now, it appears that one guy trashed a Limbaugh page and that trashing would have quickly been removed, he did not try to revise history like Fox has done hundreds of times and still shows up on all the public pages they have edited. The reason this should be a big deal is that if all news agencies start doing this, Wiki can be summarily dismissed as not being a viable source of information. The fact that some people here are trying to compare the two is pure partisan hackery.

So what?

Who Cares what wikipedia says abour a few people?

It seem just abour irrelevent to me. It is obvious that liberals can edit things also. I dont watch much news, and I am not obsessed with the people that do the news. Unless you are going to have a balanced piece of literature and investigate both liberals and conservatives that are editing Wikipedia, this smells like a witch-hunt.

These pigs already have conservapedia...

I'd appreciate if they'd keep their lie infected hands and opinions out of our user created content. They better knock it off, and soon, or it will mean war.

I read about this a while back... It's amazing the dirt that's been dug up by that searching tool since it was released.

Sounds like it goes both ways.

lol. I don't know about "legally retarded," but "co-dependants" sounds apt for fans of that oxy-popping walrus.

Not on wikipedia. If their interests include vandalizing peoples hard work and posted information for their own political gain, then their site is fair game for attacks. I'm sure they'd love to have their forums trashed yet again.

Also, I'm not going to respond politely to condescending posts anymore... It's kind of a new thing that I'm going to try out. It's not very flattering for your own personal image to be laughing/insulting things you have no knowledge on, either.

Not true.

For a change, I caught their 6 O'clock broadcast last night. They did a section on it (the FBI, the UN, Walmart and other news agencies ) and at the end they mentioned edits by Fox News too.

Well it's on their Wiki page right now.

Text

But that may have been from an earlier broadcast that was changed for 6pm or perhaps it's totally false. 😕

Are you not saying your going to hack Foxnews's website and forums if they don't stop editing wikipedia? 😕

then their site is fair game for attacks. I'm sure they'd love to have their forums trashed yet again.

Frankly, you're the one itching for a vacation, as I'm pretty sure AT doesn't like it's forums hacked and neither would fox.

Hey, let's do this. Let's look at our last 20 posts. Whoever contributed less content/was off topic will take a voluntary one month vacation? Bet? Didn't think so. Ayabe and I (I think) have settled our differences, don't stick your nose in the middle.

In order to stay back on topic...um, I can't think of anything, because this is a pretty silly topic. Other than wikipedia should maybe require registration or a better system to prevent this.

I wasn't talking to you. However, you asked me questions, so I'll answer.

First of all, an "attack" on a website is easy, anyone with half a brain and one hour of reading can learn how. There is nothing LOL 1337 HAX about it.

Secondly, I'm not the one throwing out useless insults and childish comments, you are. I was dead serious with my post, where as you were simply looking to insult to make yourself feel better or something... I wont pretend to understand the inner workings of your mind, though.

Frankly, AT doesn't need to worry about website attacks, mainly because they're not a colossal right-wing news site spreading lies and bias all over the place to further an outdated and pathetic agenda. They also don't edit and otherwise vandalize other peoples research/articles on wikipedia.

UH OH IMA 1227 HAX0rIng TERRORIST BETTER GET ME

Tell me alchemize, do you LIKE that people both in the CIA/FBI and Fox news have been found editing articles of wikis and such for political means? Why exactly are you acting like a 12 y/o boy who just had his favorite anime tv show insulted?

Say something mildly useful or on topic, or go back to ATOT. I wouldn't mind the brainless knee jerk insults there, hell I'd expect it.

The point you're missing is that others have pointed out edits by the BBC, NYT and the DNC - which have been one between the three of them - and those were juvenile comments that were clearly so over the top as to stand out - as for Fox they've edited about 79 times now and that's only what User contributions have found so far.....

You can also hit Wiki Search and smoke out others who have been editing wikis, just for the purpose of pushing an agenda.....

or you can keep posting IT'S A WITCH HUNT!

The only time I have watched Fox News in the past few years is when I go to a McDonald's and they have it on on their TVs. The stuff they usually show is the latest news on Britney, Paris or some other similar thing. Oh and I l love the commercials promoting their shows, shows like "Hannity's America" and the O'Reilly Factor, etc.

I think Fox News wants to make itself seem different from CNN and MSNBC and having different views is part of that. Although, are these networks really different? Other than some host, they all basically show similar type of news now - like how is Angelina, Brad, Paris, Britney are doing etc etc. I must admit that Fox News portrays the war in Iraq in something different than the reality is.
