Just stop and think about the logistical nightmare involved in Obama attending!
The Secret Service need to secure the place and be able to guarantee Obama`s safety!
I would bet they Secret Service and others said it`s not worth the risk! Why?
Because perhaps others would see this as a chance to kills a world leader.....

It makes sense!!

I don't dispute that at all.

I venture by foxnews.com daily. Their lead story headline is always worth a laugh. Like today, 4 million europeans show up to march against terrorism and what does fox run?

"United against terror, and Obama is nowhere to be found."

LOL, turning a united stand against terror after the wake of a terrible massacre into something to bash Obama about.

You must find CNN equally funny can meet since their front page was Obama nowhere to be found as well.

No it did/does not. It says White said it was a mistake not to send a higher rank representative. No names or the usual "Thanks Obama..." BS titles fox is well known for.

And if Obama had attended, FOX would have complained about how Obama was wasting taxpayer monies taking a "working vacay" under the guise of showing support for the French.

It's FOX. It's what they do. It's what their viewers want to hear and see. It doesn't matter at all whether what they report is factual or not.

FOX has a single purpose and that is to incessantly flail away at Obama and the Dems in general in order to keep their ratings up and to keep the Repub fringe loonies riled up with hate and fear.

Loyal FOX viewers are simply addicted to this kind of "news". They want to hear and see anything and everything that will justify the hatred they possess for any and all things that seemingly threaten their beliefs, of which was fomented and cultivated by the very same news source they are addicted to.

FOX delivers and so does The Globe and Nat'l Enquirer. No difference that I can perceive. Same audience with the same needs.

Watching this on British TV now. Apparently this guy has given sworn testimony in front of Senate committee in the past...hope he was more careful with his fact-checking back then.

Wait, I thought France was bad? Freedom fries and all that.
It's hard to keep up with all of the right wing flip flopping.
The one guy who should be there is GWB, for stirring up so much trouble. But he might be arrested if he travels to Europe, so I guess not.

Fox is still going with the no-go zones. Just got this from the front page:

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/0...s-france-muslim-no-go-zones-incubating-jihad/

In hundreds of French "no-go" zones -- neighborhoods where neither tourists nor cops dare enter -- poor and alienated Muslims have intimidated the government into largely ceding authority over them, prompting fears that the kind of jihad that gave rise to last week's attack in Paris is festering unchecked.

When you read a bit further, though:
resemble poor sections of America’s cities where gangs rule, crime and drugs are rampant and police only enter with significant backup.
The truth is far less interesting. It's gone from "a country within a country, where law enforcement doesn't go" (verbatim quote from the guy in the video in this article) to merely being a high crime area (like all countries have) and so cops have to go in with a heavier presence when they do go around the area.

"45 percent of the claims we’ve checked from NBC and MSNBC pundits and on-air personalities have been rated Mostly False, False or Pants on Fire. At Fox and Fox News Channel, that same number is now 58 percent. At CNN, it’s 22 percent"

http://www.politifact.com/punditfac...hecking-fox-msnbc-and-cnn-punditfacts-networ/

It's like a race to see who can lie the most. I am so glad I "downgraded" to basic cable. Even 22% is shameful.
Shameful. But I knew fox was shit. I listen to it for the reason indicated in that politifact. Because the opposition networks are also shit. They are both full of liars and miscreants, so I try and glean what little bits of poo-covered seeds I can from many sources. It's too bad politifact doesn't do NPR because I'm pretty damn sure it is head over heels better than any of these mainstream news toilets. I also do think CNN is the better of the main ones for credibility. Fox is full of too many anti-democrat idiots (more than msnbc is full of anti-republican ones).

I haven't liked much on Fox since Hannity and Colmes.

They are honestly just awful, awful people. I don't watch colmes but hannity is truly a nasty piece of work on TV. I hope he doesn't consider himself a journalist by any measure at all.

That's been explained a hundred times here in a hundred different no go creeping sharia threads here
It's no go with the Islamphobes though, its always about the creeping sharia. You'll see the next time one comes up.

Times of fear and uncertainty brings out people's true selves and usually those are ugly. You can see all over the internet that people are posting mean and hateful comments about the so-called Muslims. Every article it seems is filled with just pure venom from user comments directed against people that the posters haven't a clue about. It just shows you how ugly our world is.

People seem to pick good guys and bad guys. Apparently, the so-called Muslims are the bad guys of our time here in the West. The media is doing its part to keep this alive. And Fox News is just giving people EXACTLY what they want to hear and see. They want to see attractive females giving news in quick soundbites and easy to digest information. They want to see bold, even hateful comments by the hosts directed at the so-called enemies - whether they are the Democrats, Obama or the latest boogeyman - the Muslims. And Fox News serves it up. Along with many other so-called news outlets.

The peace loving, modern, educated and open minded Western people (Germany, France, etc) might be turning to their old ways of sticking with their own kind. I guess that kind of mentality never really left. After all, it wasn't long ago that these peace loving, modern and very educated Western people were trying to enslave, humiliate, brutalize and subjugate any non-white person in the world. But these people (the offspring of the brutalizers) are now the epitome of what is good and right in the world. Heck, all the world wants to imitate them. What a world we live in.

This is a joke, right?

A gathering of the worlds useless hacks err I mean "leaders" in one place and its on the SS to worry totally about the security that surely no one else had thought of?

If you were joking about this very thing then great but hard to tell.

Sounds like a similar defense "expert" who was roundly mocked on TDS - mainly due to his claim that we needed 300 more Abrams tanks to add to the several thousand parked in the Nevada desert and thousands more forward deployed in the world in case because we might have to invade all of Africa because of Muslims jihading.

Just another way to get publicity because that's all we humans care about. We never try to get to the root of the problem in order to solve it. We would rather play around at the surface and try to look good. It's pathetic that the Obama admin. is giving excuses for not attending this so-called rally or whatever they're calling it.

No, what's pathetic is the Obama admin is catching flak for not attending the so-called rally.
Especially when the Obama admin has done more to fight terrorists than any other country or admin.

We are all genetically the same we were thousands of years ago with the colosseum and all the genocides since. The only thing that separates us from engaging in that is education and luck; are we born in Utah in 1985 or Sierra Leone because if it's the latter we may very well murder our parents as part of indoctrination into a child army. Most of us are not nearly so far as we like to believe from becoming savage barbarians and doing horrific things in the name of our just cause. As you allude to it was only a few generations ago the Germans we gassing millions. But I truly don't hold that grudge against contemporary Germans. We walk a very fine line of civility and it is more fragile than most admit. More than not we are slaves to our birth and surroundings.

Terrorists? I'm sorry, but that word is overloaded and has lost all its meaning (not that it had any to begin with).

I'm sorry for my narrow minded post. Looking back at it, it seems extremely shallow and without much meaning.

As you say, we are all the same - it is a matter of what kind of conditioning you have received. We are all selfishly seeking a "better" life in the ways we know. Only few, very few, individuals are capable enough to break free of this conditioning. We all have the deep seated hatreds and fears in us that can cause any one of us to commit any sort of atrocity. Yes, let's not point fingers at any one group. Let's see how we humans can solve our problems by working together. No one is above or below anyone.

Thank you.

I didn't think it was narrow minded. On the contrary I see very little ever said from people who seem to realize that in a slightly different world they could be the slaughterer. When people are fearful either from real danger or just as effectively from fake danger manipulated by a savvy leader they can become beasts and act without civility. That last article I linked at fox is aimed at low capacity thinkers who are more interested in using their gut instincts and prejudices to guide them through the world.
