Just saw this "ALERT" while channel surfing. The clip they showed of him was exactly like every other clip that's been shown of him in the last few months. After the clip, the reporter said how Dean went on and on for a full 45 seconds afterwards with his rant. Fox News is hilarious. That is all.

Nothing wrong with that IMHO. He sounds like he believes in what he is saying and is willing to stand up for it and defend himself.

I've seen Dean much more passionate and emotional on his regular campaign stops during his regular stump speeches. From that article, it looks like Dean let the guy talk for 3 minutes (I only saw Dean's mic'ed response to him). Letting a person bash you for 3 minutes is REALLY losing your temper.

Let's see the Bush MO:

1) pretend you didn't hear
2) pretend you don't understand
3) ridicule the inquirer
4) string "9/11", "terrorism", "jobs", "tax cut", "compassion", "security" into a phrase that bears some resemblance to English.

Wow, this thing is all over now. Apparently it was a Bush Loyalist infiltrator:

1-11-2004 Retired Bush supporter blasts Dean at Iowa Forum, tells him to stop mean mouthing Bush

OELWEIN, Iowa - Howard Dean rejected a voter's request to be more neighborly and stop "mean mouthing" President Bush, saying Sunday someone needs to stand up to the president.

Dale Ungerer, a retiree from Hawkeye, Iowa, lectured Dean for nearly three minutes near the end of a forum aimed at winning voters for Iowa's Jan. 19 caucuses.

Ungerer accused Dean and other Democratic presidential hopefuls of dividing the country by bashing Bush instead of outlining their own plans and showing respect for authority.

"Please tone down the garbage, the mean mouthing, the tearing down of your neighbor and being so pompous," Ungerer told the former Vermont governor and Democratic front-runner. "You should help your neighbor and not tear him down."

"George Bush is not my neighbor," Dean replied.

"Yes, he is," Ungerer said, to which Dean responded: "You sit down. You've had your say and now I'm going to have my say."

"That is exactly the problem. Under the guise of 'support your neighbor' we're all expected not to criticize the president because it's unpatriotic," Dean said to enthusiastic applause. "I think it's unpatriotic to do some of the things that this president has done to this country."

Ungerer, who said he was a registered Republican who voted for Bush...left after the exchange.

"He put me down definitely because he is who he is," Ungerer said.

So he's not mine either. I am not going to kiss his butt and I do not expect Dean to do so either. Where would America be without having the right to be able to criticize your leaders ? What if our founding father decided to just go along and not say anything bad about the king of England ?

Huh? I know, and I would've posted the Yahoo link because it made the frontpage (with a MUCH different headline). I was making fun of the Fox News "Alert", not of the situation.

By your fortuitous use of smileys, I'm thinking that you think you've "0wned" me, which is just as ridiculous as that Fox News Alert.

Now that I think about it some more, that does seem ridiculous.

I think Mr Ungerer's remarks would have carried more weight had GWB and his congressional allies not previously adopted the Grover Norquist definition of bipartisanship...

I guess it really was "news" then - no? Seems to me the other news sources have run headlines on it, no?;)

Meh - You can think I was trying to "pwn" you, but whatever:p think what you want - it was news that you decided to post. You can say Fox's headline was ridiculous all you want but Reuters ran this headline: "Voter Triggers Dean's Much-Talked About Temper" Hmmm.... Laugh about "alert" too - fine with me - I don't watch Fox and don't care that it gets your panties in a bunch:D

I like the new "Dean is full of hate" slant. I guess this replaces "Gore created the internet". Nice to see the Rep. brain trust filling the liberal media with issues that matter.

Why do you think I'm always so offended and hurt by right wing propoganda like yours and Fox News? I'm sorry, but I don't like using excessive amounts of smileys like you when I find something humorous. Everytime I respond to you, you throw your arms up in the air and declare that I'm getting personally offended. Its getting really boring and if you're not going to make any substantive rebuttals then don't make any.

:)

Awww - poor Monsta - can't handle a little ribbing when he dishes it out to FOX.:( <sniffle>

I posted to the relevant news - you got defensive. You can't try to shift that onto me. If you don't want to discuss the relevant news in the articles I posted about the "triggers...temper" part - fine. We'll just make this a bash FOX thread.:)

I heard it on the radio, and it didn't sound to me like he lost his temper. He was very calm through the whole exchange. Of course rightwingers spin things like these all the time. They were running ads bashing Dean for saying thank you very much. Then some other ads bashing him for alleged latte drinking habit. It's getting pretty silly.
Not to mention that Secret Service is not letting anyone with opposing opinion within mile of Bush. So by comparison, Dean's reaction is very sane compared to Bush's paranoia.
