I attended university with a LOT of Middle Eastern Muslims (engineering) and a lot of them were fanatics, although some were quite nice and reasonable. Oddly, one of the nicest guys I've ever known was from Iran - although that being during the hostage crisis, he told most people he was from Jordan. Oddly, the lone girl actually was from Jordan. We were talking one day and I asked her if she was going back, staying, or going elsewhere after graduation and she matter-of-factly told me that she could never go back; her mother had flat-out told her that for bearing a child out of wedlock, the family would murder her if she ever came back, to wipe out the family's dishonor. Mustafa too could never go back to Iran; having ignored the Revolutionary Council's summons to return and be judged for studying in America, he could expect automatic imprisonment and possible execution.
