Didn't seem like it had much of an effect for me. :( Thanks though!

Looking through the forums the OP linked too, seems like Intel will get the boost and AMD processors won't.

Considering most here have AMD it might not do many good. But I am sure there are some Intel ppl here(somewhere).

this worked great on my brother's rig:

64 3000+
9600XT
512MB PC3200

the game lagged on low quality at 640 x 480! now it runs quite nicely. might jack up the settings a bit

Cool maybe it ain't just Intel systems. Maybe you really have to have alot of lag to notice it? Maybe someone with a mid/high end system, try upping the gfx to something that was stuggish before and try using this to see if it helps? Maybe it's just a hit or miss tweak.

That's vey interesting. I have the same, but with a gig less RAM and my opty only running at ~2.1ghz and I have no prob running Oblivion at 1600x1200 with max settings. Gets a little choppy if I have a big fight (6+ NPCs), but otherwise very smooth.

this fix worked great on my system:

3000+
6600GT AGP
1GB of PC3200
SATA hard drive

I'm running it with conservative settings, 1024x768 with bloom. i'm getting around 60fps.

I didn't notice it do much... if anything, when I logged in the first time after doing this I thought it was slower...
