Eight years ago in Britain, a boy was born who, genetically, was two people. He was formed when two eggs, fertilized by two different sperm, fused into one embryo inside his mother's womb.

Somebody with two sets of genetic code, one person two different people??

I bet that would royally confuse some lab technician if he was ever tested for DNA evidence 😀

Oh and one more question, these two different sperm...ummmm....are they from the same "source"? I'm trying to figure out the logistics of this.

Wow, that is pretty wacky. A genetic mosaic on a smaller scale is why people like David Bowie have a different color on the iris of each eye.

I read an article not so long ago that basically said all mothers are chimeras because their code is altered with each pregnancy.

I'm too tired to look for it but I am sure the info is out there somewhere. Basically, I am me plus all my kids... but I could a told ya that. 😉

That's great for persons formed when two eggs, fertilized by two different sperm, fuse into one embryo inside the mother's wombs but how can the rest of us become chimeras, too?

Wouldn't that be weird, to know that you're carrying around the parts of a brother/sister that died in the womb while you were in it?

I wonder if that's how all hermaphrodites are formed. When my mom was in nursing school, the fetal pig that she dissected was hermaphtoditic. It had testes and ova, but no other sex organs.
