Found something interesting...

Hey all,

Well I guess I've taken a turn for the worse; I'm going to post on ATOT for help.. (Oxymoron? 😉)

Anyways, I was helping my Dad clean out the garage and found an old belt with an attached bayonet and scabbard. I've had a hard time identifying it, but after some searching, I've come to the conclusion that it's from an FN49 Rifle. Can anyone confirm?

Since I've noticed that any thread is "worthless without pics," I've taken some.

If you can't read some of the pics, the numbers are: "AL03001, 03001, SA 30 (with superscript 'J' with crown on top inbetween SA and 30)"

Thanks,

Peter.

I can't help, but I bet Walleye would profess to being an expert in bayonets... if there is such a thing.

It looks too old to be a bayonet for an FN49. I have one of those rifles but I do not have a bayonet for it so I cannot tell from looking at it.
