Are you trying to incite a flame war Czar? How about I ram an inflatable raft full of explosives down your puny throat?

This is definitely NOT cool. 19 men and women lost their lives aboard the U.S.S. Cole for their country. If anything should be said about the U.S.S. Cole and it's crew, it's thank you. Thank you for being so brave and courageous in the face of danger in order to protect your country and some of it's ignorant inhabitants.

"Cool" and "nice" are not words which come to mind when I think of this tragedy.

the only thing I think is cool about the pics, is the way the U.S.S. Cole is being carried by that other ship.

sort of like when the Space Shuttle gets a ride aboard a 747.

ARG people, I´m not saying a single thing about what happened in asia, I´m just saying that these pictures are cool. Why do you allways have to look at it from your patriotic viewpoint.

OK, then what's so cool about a United States ship with a hole in it?

Wouldn't it be like me saying "hey look there is one of Czar's family members with a bullet hole in them, cool."

get it right, it wasn't in asia! it was in the middle east.

and the rest of you are wrong. they are pretty cool pictures. it's neat to see a giant battleship being carried piggy back by an even giant-er ship.

Take it easy fellas. While I don't think the incident was in the least bit cool, I guess I can understand what Czar is talking about .

It doesn't seem he was trying to start a flame war.

I agree that his comments were offensive, but it was not intentional. Remember how stupid you were when YOU were 14 years old? :p

I don't want to start a flame war either, but I just want to point something out. If the situation was reversed, and a small raft full of American soldiers blew the crap out of an enemy battleship, those men would be held up around here as heroes. The men who carried out the attack lost their lives for their country and were probably considered

<< brave and courageous n the face of danger in order to protect [their] country and some of it's ignorant inhabitants >>

.

:frown:

I'm just sorry that so many people had to die because politicians don't have the sense to sit down and work things out.

"Cool, nice hole"

Those are some idiotic words to describe the damage to a US Destroyer.

He's calling the pics of the ship cool, not the bombing, or the hole. I don't think he's supporting the hole, the creators of said hole, or the death invovled in creating the hole. Furthermore, I think the pics are cool, and the hole is interesting, and volunteer to be put on this flaming block. Why does it seem as though there's a bandwagon of people in OT willing to follow whoever will start a flame war?

After serving 4 years in the Navy, 3 1/2 of those on a DDG I take offense to the words "nice hole" knowing that sailors were killed and maimed when that "nice hole" was created.
I am interested in the pictures also, but thank the the termonolgy he used was misguided, foolish and unthinking. Idiotic may be a bit stong, but I do not apologize for having strong feeling about this issue.

And what the fvck is that damn smiley face doing by "nice hole"?

The cool part is that odd looking ship carrying it. I had been wondering how they would get the Cole back to someplace where they could work on it. I didn't know that carrying ships like it's on even existed. That's pretty nifty.

Having to see the Cole on that type of ship is NOT nifty.

May I suggest just rewording the title and the original post?

The pic is definitely interesting, but calling it "cool" and a "nice hole" is offensive to some people (including me).
