Holy effin crap. I called him to ask him if he still had it, and he asked me if I wanted to buy it. Hells yes. At first, he said $5 or $10!! I felt a little bad about it, and told him if he had some cool games (Sonic, blah blah) I'd give him $20. Granted, its in horrible condition, the screen's chicken scratched, no battery pack, raped AC adapter, but Nomad for $20? HOT DAMN!

It's a portable system that played actual Sega Genesis cartridge games.

Great Buy for $20 only thing is you need to have to thing pluged in to power outlet at all times because battery life really sucks.

I found a Nomad at EBX last year for $30! I don't know what it was doing there. It was behind the counter....I was like "Is that a Sega Nomad?" and the guy says "I dunno what it is. It says Nomad..."
"How much?"
"$30"
Effing A! I have not been able to find the right cable to hook it to my TV...i thought I had both the Genesis A/V cables, but neither of them fit.
But it works great! That thing was way ahead of its time.

These things fetch >$100 on eBay

/me digs out his Nomad.

:D

Sold mine last year for like $80. :)

It's a nice system, but the screen has a reeaalllly slow response time. Sonic blurs horribly, but other games aren't so bad.

Yeah, I had no idea this device was so popular, I remember when my dad bought one back in '95, I would play it with my sister when we went on trips to lake tahoe.. God the batteries would die so quickly it was insane, so we finally got a car adapter and most of the problems went away. It was too bad though that my dad didn't get any real "hit games"...

Hmm.....

I've had a Nomad for probably a decade now. I've used it enough, but never enough to put much wear on it. And to think, if I wanted, I could sell it for more than I got it (+ 3 games, battery pack, AC adapter) for. I've probably even still got the original packaging packed away, lol.

I'm not sure I agree with the comment that it's better designed than Nintendo handhelds, though. The thing definitely is bulky.

Um, the friends I hang out with, dates I go on, and my co-workers help the fact that I'm out much of the time. There are just no arcades in my area anymore
