Looks like ATI will be selling TWO cards with identical specs: a built by ATI X800GT16, and the X800XL. Both have the same number of pipes, core & memory clocks. It was one thing when a partner came up with a one-off card (GTO^2), but now looks like ATI is getting in the game.

The price is a few $ less than the identical card with the XL label.
Can official X850XT as a different model number be far behind? ATI must still have several metric buttloads of these cores to pull a move like this.
Gotta suck for vendors who still have inventories of the X800XL and Pro cards they're trying to move anywhere near MSRP.
p.s. seeing as the egg has an X850XT card for $235AR (239 for Sapphire, AR), I don't see where a $194 X800XL is that great of a deal, but hey. That's just me.
