Gonna pick this up tomorrow. Test drove tonight, flawless.

Regarding my other thread ~ 08 Focus was totaled, insurance cut us a decent check, brother decided to accept the bad mpg in exchange for a sportier vehicle. Tires and oil changes are expected expenses as well. Insurance is a $5 increase.

One owner, no rust and low miles. Has a better exhaust note than the ms3, somewhat jealous even though it's a much older car!

Auto, mehhh but felt ok, exhaust note compensated. Seriously, wish my car could produce a sound like that.

First thing you'll have to do is replace the Oil cooler seals, those love to leak! Second thing you'll need to be aware of is the bushing on the rear cross member which likes to fail.

Enjoy your horrific gas mileage! You'll be lucky to eclipse 25mpg on the freeway!

Yeah researched, expecting 16-19 city and 24 highway.

Parents have a G37, shit mileage, we know it's the weak point of these cars.

Won't be driven much. Every single oil change has been documented on Carfax, dealer serviced all it's life. Avg 7,000 miles a year with the previous owner.

Ok, but you still have to replace the oil cooler o-ring. It's a job you may be capable of doing as it's fairly straightforward. I JUST did this job about two days ago on my neighbor's Infiniti... (Same engine)

Nice ride, love the VQ! I have it in my Altima and get decent MPG, but I know the G35's get worse mileage. I have the SE-R model so exhaust might be similar and it is nice for stock!

Awesome car. Have an 07 G35 Sedan. Mpg on the highway is about 22-23 for me but I drive a little fast. I get about 18-19 around town. Love the engine and exhaust sounds. Amazing ride.

Coupe has a bit sportier feel to it. Really an amazing car. Puts a smile to my face every time I drive it.

Congrats!

nice upgrade!

Also agreed on the g35 exhaust, I don't know what they did with the exhaust but it always sounded totally awesome.

I'm strongly considering getting rid of an RSX I have for a G35 that popped up around the corner from me.

I know you haven't had it long, but any chance you've had it in any snow (I see some in the background)?

... The RSX I have is prior salvage so only so many insurance companies will cover it, and quotes I've had from other places are WAAAY cheaper, so I would like to unload that and switch companies... not to mention the G would be a LOT more fun to drive.

I don't go far to/from work but live in MN so we get a lot of cold and snow (I would get a second set of rims/tires) and my current main car is a IS350 so I'm no stranger to RWD, but the IS has amazing traction system.

I hear the car is terrible in the snow - unless snow tires are mounted. But any car with summers are a disaster in snow.

It's an 04 G35, amazing because I think the design was way ahead of its time. Still looks good today IMO.

Been reading the forums, seems it's a tossup between choosing the 04 or 05. The rev-up seem to improve some issues, more power, but the 04 models produce a better sound. Either way, they seem like good engines.

Also the car fax

with a set of snow tires you'd be just fine.... obviously within reason

People love to say this about any RWD car for some reason. I would say its the people that suck, not the car.

Summer tires in snow? No matter how much skill, you'll still be restrained by the snow.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTy7Z2WniiM

Had summers on my ms3 and while the car could move, tires were constantly losing traction

Summer tires aren't a property of the car. They are *supposed* to be changed out in winter. Idiot drivers trying to save a buck. Not really any different than someone ignoring oil changes and being surprised when they have expensive engine work. Maybe they should have a tire check warning pop up when temps get blow 50 or so?

Year and miles?

Compression rod bushing like to go and make the suspension all clunky, which I hear is worse on my g35x that on the RWD models.

Wheel bearings go early sometimes, I've read about them going as early as 45k miles. I just replaced one and it was a bit painful to have the dealer do it. (again, the X is worse off on this issue it seems)

Gas Mileage will suck, you will drive it fast. Find a 6mt sedan, enjoy the weight savings.

The laser red on the coupes is awesome though...

04' G35 110,xxx miles
No rust - which comes as a premium in price when purchasing a car here. Kbb doesn't account too well for that. Almost all used vehicles here (10+ years), have some sort of rust

Nice G! Pre 05 from the interior. Yeah I had an 05 G35x. Powerful car, comfy inside, nice ride overall. Get ready for exactly 20MPG

Got it! Only thing it immediately needs is door actuators (heard it's a coming problem)

Other than that, my brother likes it. I would still pick my ms3 any day due to a 6spd ha!
