My uncle found a rabbit in his yard while he was cutting the grass. So now it's all shredded up and bloody.

Kidding. It's pretty small...it's about the size of a fist or smaller and it didn't move at all when he came close. So he picked it up and gave it to us. Should I worry about it biting me and getting some kind of disease?

Is rabies very rampant where you live? If so, I'd stay away from that thing. Otherwise, RABBIT STEW! UHMMMMMMMMMM j/k

Oh yeah, are there shots for rabbits? If so, I'd probably get those before you do anything with it

I don't know...however young it is if it's a little bigger than the size of your fist.

If its not moving, either its very young or its sick in some way. I'd rather be careful about it. Take it to the vet if you care about it; otherwise, I hear if you skin and clean it, then add some salt and black pepper, it'll go great on the grill.

I'd be careful with it ... it's not likely to be rabies, but rabbits can get a disease that's contagious to humans. Don't recall what it was called. Back home in PA., I recall the state game commision warning small game hunters to wear gloves when cleaning rabbits, and discarding ones that had white spots on the liver IIRC. I think they also warned against keeping rabbits that were very lethargic.

In any case, it doesn't sound healthy ... what's it doing now?

one time our dogs brought up a rabbit, we assumed it to be dead so it was nothing out of the ordinary (we live in the country). then a few hours later we noticed it was alive and trapped between the doghouse and the house where the dogs couldnt get to it. we brought it inside since it seemed alive and uninjured, and we found out:
a) it was very tame, obviously someone's pet rabbit
b) it had 3 legs, one rear and two front.
the missing leg wasnt bloody or anything, so he either lost it some time ago or was born like that (not sure if thats possible). later we took it to the vet and he said it had been chewed off quite some time ago because the bone was all jagged.

anyway, now we have a rabbit. this happened quite a while ago, we've had him about 4 years now. in the summer he is an outdoor rabbit, his cage is outside and always open (dont worry, he has shade). he spends most of the day hopping around in the yard and eating. we have 4 large dogs but they never bother him.

Pictures are up. I take that back, it's not the size of a man's fist...it's smaller. That CD player in the picture is about standard size, so that's how big the bunny is relative to any other CD player. So it's a baby? And that's why it's not moving very much?

I did see it eat when I snuck up on it...but when it saw me, it huddled back in the corner.
