Found a rabbit den with baby rabbits in my backyard!

EDIT: So my conscience got the best of me, and I decided not to kill the baby rabbits, or get someone to take care of them. I researched them a bit more, and found that they would likely be around for 3 weeks max, and then they would leave, so I decided to leave them alone. I was in a bad mood when I found them, so that is I why I wanted to get rid of them so badly.

EDIT 2: So I went out in my backyard this morning, and discovered that they were dead. I don't know what happened, but their 6 inch long bodies were out on the lawn, and they were dead with flies buzzing around. When I went to dispose of them, I noticed the mother was in the bushes, and she ran away when I started to pick them up. It's pretty hot today in Chicago, so maybe they died from the heat?

------------------------

So, I was mowing my lawn when I noticed that part of the lawn appeared to be moving. So I thought to myself, what the hell is going on. I checked it out, and there was a bunch of loose fur around there, and when I moved it over, I saw a few baby rabbits inside the hole! I hate the rabbits around here, they have already chewed up my flowers and one of my bushes! First thing tomorrow morning I am going to call animal/pest control, and let them deal with them. ARG! :|

You're too scared to deal with a couple baby rabbits yourself? Actually when I was young we found some baby rabbits, and took them. And then nursed them using eye droppers full of milk mixed with pig feed. We also kept them under a heat lamp. 3 of the 4 of them lived and then we eventually let them go into the wild.

Oh jesus fscking christ you big pussy.

If you don't want the rabbits to eat your flowers, give them something else to eat.

You don't need to call fscking pest control.

They're rabbits, not termites.

you mean you had a running lawnmower right next to you, saw something you wanted to kill, and decided to pay money for some other guy to come later and take care of it?

If I were to personally deal with them, they would bludgeoned to death with a shovel. If I let animal control deal with them, they will at least be euthanized in a humane way...

Pest control in the town is paid for by my taxes, so I won't be spending any money to get rid of them...

Have you ever heard a bunny squeal when it's dying? It's freaky!

I was thinking about running them over with the lawnmower, but I don't want to get rabbit guts all over my lawn.

You're fscked up.

You would rather kill them than have them be apart of the natural wildlife in your area?

We have dozens of rabbits around our place. If they start getting into your garden, just buy some rabbit food and put it somewhere else.

That's what we do. They rarely bother anything, though.

Funny enough, some monks in the Middle Ages deemed baby rabbits as fish, so they could eat them without commiting a sin during some religious fasting periods.... that should give you an idea how prized these baby rabbits are... and how good they must taste.

Rabbits are a pest, plain and simple. I live in a suburb of Chicago... it's not like I live in the forest or countryside and have deer and other wildlife in my backyard. Most of the time you see a rabbit around here it's dead because it's been nailed by a car. They seem to eat anything and everything green that they can reach. After I found out that the rabbits were eating my flowers, I put up a plastic fence around the flowers. The rabbits then chewed through the plastic fence to get to my flowers... They may look cute and cuddley, but they are very destructive animals. They have also chewed through the wood surrounding my deck in order to get under it.

I'm sure that if I said I found an insect burrow of termites in my backyard, and was going to destroy them, no one would care.

Stating the obvious only works if you have a point to make.

Have any Vietnamese friends? Call them over for dinner.
