Except it doesnt have a S on it. Coins from the early 1900s with the San Fransico mint mark, are rare, which is why they are valuable.

This specific coin is from the Philadelphia mint(no mint mark), the most common of the mint marks.
 
It's an Indian Head penny. Looks to a grade of "fine". You can still see the outline of feathers on the head dress, and the lines on the shield on the reverse.

Coins are ALWAYS worth more if they haven't been cleaned!

BTW: Ever seen a Steel Penny The one on the left is steel. Notice the color difference?

If you ever find a 1943 copper penny, HOLD on to it! They made VERY few copper ones in 43!
