Well, since 3 cops passed me at better than 85+ mph, I can honestly say that they had better things to do.

Fine, I'll keep a dozen chickens in my backseat and rip out a handful of feathers every half mile :p

You could always move over a lane...

Why are American drivers so fvcking inconsiderate anyway? I see people constantly driving the speed limit in the far left lane forcing traffic to pass them on the right. WTF is with these people? If you see people coming up behind you moving at a faster speed than you are then MOVE THE FVCK OVER!!! :|

Wow, so if you don't do something about that tommorow you will be a real asshole. Sand and car paint do not mix!

Another more important set of words "flow of traffic". It is as dangerous to drive faster as it is slower than the flow of traffic. Many states are writting laws (or enforcing already written laws) on flow of traffic, especially in the "passing lane".

As much as I hate inconsiderate tailgaters, I hate people who drive slow in the fast lane even more. You should move over to the slow lane if you want to drive slower than everybody else. I've been known to tailgate real slow-pokes to make my point. I think all American drivers could learn something about driving discipline from the Germans...

I know you guys are talking about multilane roads, but it's just annoying on single lane roads. I lived in Ohio for a little bit and boy was it annoying when some Grandma was going 5mph below holding up traffic(yes there is traffic in the country, or more over big towns/small cities that doen't have infrastructure equipped to accomodate a growing population..or at least more people then there were like 40 years ago).

 if someone is following too close, clean your windshield and the fluid will spray behind you.

The left lane is a passing lane and shouldn't be used to speed ridiculously or coast. Driving the speed limit is safe most of the time. I mean unless everyone around you in front and behind is going 10-25 miles faster than you, there is no reason not to go the speed limit. "Flow of traffic" is true, but for the most part, the flow of traffic will remain near the speed limit. I rarely speed anymore, and if I do I rarely go over 5-10 miles over.

Depends on if the speed limit is a reasonable number (ie., 85th percentile). In Southern California, where I live, it's 55mph and the left two lanes typically average 75-80mph.

When people tailgate me, I tap the breaks to warn them, then if that doesn't do it, I slow down to 5 or 10 under the limit until they back off.

Aircraft certified landing lights, attached to your rear bumper, aimed at traffic work just great. If some ass get's on your tail at night, it normally takes a quick flick of the switch.
If that doesn't work, I hit the oil burner and fog em out. If still no workie, I hit the spike dispenser. ;)

WTF are you, Knight Rider?

That was my other guess. I don't remember aircraft landing lights on either though.

For those of you who are not familiar with I-285 in Atlanta, it is know as the Peanut 500. THe average spped on there is 80 in the MIDDLE lane, even though the posted speed is 55. I was doing 78 in the middle lane and people are passing me on the left like I was standing still.
