found a lump on my neck this morning...

should i be concerned? i did a little research online and found out that this could be contributed to infections or something minor, but it could be something serious. they recommend that I go see a doctor.

should i? i am sure others here have had the same problem and found out that their lump is nothing serious. anyone here ever found out their lump turned out to be a big problem?

okay guys, false alarm.

i went to the doctor today and found out the lump is most likely a lipoma. nothing to be concerned about unless it increase in size. the doctor went on to check all my lymph glands just to make sure. yea, i had to drop my pants for him to check the glands down there... it was awkward, especially when he started to ask if i was single and if i had a gf after i dropped my drawers...anyways, thats a different story.

Exactly where is the lump? If it's in the front, it could be your Adam's apple.

You absolutely should have it checked out. While it may simply be a benign cyst, it may also be a lymphnode or tumor that would need biopsy.

I'm not one to practice scare tactics, but my 37 year old just died from metastatic skin cancer that started out as a small lump on his shoulder. From lump to burial was under 12 months.

Schedule your Dr appointment tomorrow morning. You probably need a checkup anyway.

It's probably a benign cyst, but you should have it checked out by a doctor, likely a dermatologist.
 
seems like a lymphnode because its under the skin and it feels a little firm. the lump is a little under an inch in diameter.
