I, personally, think a post like this is a good idea!!!
I dunno about the rest of ATOT, but BACKUPS are a big deal for me.
Since we don't use film for stills or video anymore..........I backup & backup my backups!!
There's been plenty of talk about how long CD's will last us.......(pressed, burned, RW, etc.)........and it'll be nice to see what REAL WORLD tests will show us in the future.
(I still backup & transfer to multiple computers & hard drives, but who knows........maybe one good solar flare or EMP will render them all gone one day.....???)

congrats... all my cdrw from 1999 (when I got my first HP cdrw) are useless pieces of plastic... I have no idea how many I have lost important data thanks to cds
