No. There's different stages of upgrades... like a $2000 turbocharger... $4000 turbocharger... and $6000 turbocharger. It shows you how much power it'll add and how it'll effect the class your car is in.

You can adjust things like spring rates and downforce... but you don't have to. You'll just be a little slower than if you adjusted the car for a specific track.

What I like about it is it's not hard to get a fast car really soon. After a few hours of playing, I already had a ~550 HP RX-7 that hauls ass.

Nice to hear they do the stage upgrades... I am not a car nut my any means, so I have no idea on what I should do with certain things. Word.

I loved PGR2 and still play it from time to time, how does it compare to that?

Well... I sorta wish I traded PGR and PGR2 to reduce the cost of Forza... if that tells you anything, lol.

Another cool thing about Forza... on the scoreboards on Live, you can look at people's setup who posted top times and copy it. So they can't have like, secret setups that they use to run the top times on certain tracks.

Assume you did not plan to play Forza online at all(I'm sorry, i am sure its great, but I just can't see paying for Xbox Live)would you still think it is better then GT4?

Hands down. Forza is a much better title overall then GT4 forgetting about Live! completely.

I love the final fantasy games, but I would assume the netx will likely be on the PS3, right?

Not confirmed, but nigh certain. Square-Enix's largest market is still Japan, the N-Gage sells here comparable to how the XB sells in Japan :p

I did a review for Forza, gave it 4 stars. There were a couple things that kept it from having 5 stars, although I can't be sure if GT4 would get 5 either. The one big downer is that GT4 has over 3 times the number of cars available. But I did get Forza over GT4 regardless, simply because of the possibility for real multiplayer and the damage. All the surprises I found in the way of enhances to gameplay were just a bonus.

One glaring problem in Forza for gameplay is when you sideswipe the rails or walls from the front corner and it turns your car completely around, against that wall... that's unrealistic. If you hit it from that angle, even from the front corner, the worst that should happen is that you'd bounce off it a bit but stay facing that way. It seems like the car is rubber and you're attached to the wall after making contact.

Yeah, I noticed that too... it seems to only happen at slow speeds though... on an oval track I touched the wall and just left some paint and lost a lot of speed... didn't spin though.

My #1 complaint about Forza... no content download. So there's no chance of adding cars or tracks to the game. Probably cause Xbox 360 is right around the corner... they don't wanna bother supporting an old game on an old system a year from now.

yah this bug pisses me off alot =P

other than that and that identicle make/model of stock cars the AI seems to be faster than yours... on straights they seem to still pull me even when its supposed to be a "stock" race

this game is still great for car junkies ... level 18 so far Europe home... need some American cars to buy though =) seems like the rarest cars are Americans .. got plenty of jap cars as well..

BTW found an UBER way to make alot of cash fast...

soon as you get the Mugen S2000 and level 10+ go to pro races and cars under 300 horses race... pump up all the handleing and the transmission stuff on the S2000 and you will flat out lap people on this semi short course... 4 laps takes 1 min per lap 10k per race...

The stock class doesn't necessarily mean buy it off the showroom and race it. You can mod it, as long as you keep it to D1 or under. I was wiping the floor with the AI in my D1 Eagle Talon TSi.

actually on this race it does mean stock...
you cannot race with even tires upgraded..

I tried to see if i could get away with it...
the race is the professional pre 1974 vintage race...
all vehicles must be stock...

im using the 1967 Corvette with 500 horses... and the only other car that can keep up is the AI version of the same car... but his is marginally faster than mine..

Yep, I put that in my review too. That brought a lot of frustration when I was making the transition for NFSU gameplay to this.

I won a challenger last night. I accidentally put window tint on it, do you think it'll keep me out of that race? I wonder if the challenger can keep up with the vette anyway.

Well yeah, but I'm wondering if something that has no impact on performance will keep it out of the race.

Looks like this game finally has a solid ship date. I say finally because there was nothing but Forza love on this board when GT4 was released. Everyone kept going on about how Forza was sooooo much better than GT4, when none of you had even played the damn game yet. So it has damage, does that make it better? We'll see in a couple of weeks.

I hope for the sake of a nice future franchise that Forza is amazing, but I hate to see all of you get on your high horse and say I told you so when you didn't know what you were talking about in the first place.

Just from the Demo alone (came with Jade Empire, which rocks, BTW) I can tell you it *crushes* GT4. In all honesty, GT4 is a *joke*, and the only high poly models in the entire freaking game are the cars. Everything else is textured flat surfaces. Forza's got some *nice*, genuine geometry and an excellent engine. BEAUTIFUL game, and i don't really care for racers :)

Unfortunately for GT fans, that was because the PS2 has half the performance the Xbox has. Which is also why GT doesn't have damage. GT5 for the PS3 will be more comparable.

no cant be tinted..
and no the challenger gets raped by that vette..take the challeneger and go win the vette in the other classic race
thats what I had to do...
you can soup up the Challeneger to a class A2 car and stomp the hell outa everyone..
so far i won the Challeneger...1969 429 stang and the 67 Vette...
the vette is SOOO much faster than the others its not even funny...
and its stock....

I've only run into this a couple of times, and everytime it spun my car out it was the proper response(off camber, on throttle(RWD) or off throttle(FWD)). I've 'bounced' off of the walls numerous times(was just doing the classic era races, ended up doing it quite a bit for that small series) and had nothing close to a spin come out of it.

Now that sounds like a bettter comparison, although I do think that GT5 better be a whole lot better looking than Forza given the alleged leap in horsepower of the PS3/XBox 360 generation.

I had serious problems with just barely touching the wall and spinning out of control. That doesn't seem right and I've seen real races that didn't seem to have that issue when they touch walls. It's gotta be a bug or flaw in the design.

My 2nd complaint... not enough tire smoke. :D I bought the Buick Regal to have fun with and was doing burnouts up against walls and there wasn't much smoke. I realize that would be too hard on the Xbox hardware... but more would be cool. :D Also... there seems to be too much tire smoke when going around a corner... there's little puffs that are just too thick.
