So.. either I'm super blind, but how do I change settings on the Fanatec CSR wheel in Forza? I go to advanced options but don't see anything for 900º vs 270º, sensitivity and etc.

it is on the wheel itself. goto the support section on the website and download the manual... it is explained in there. Fyi I was experiencing a bug where, if the wheel was set to 900 degrees sensitivity, I would not get any credit or xp rewards. It is working fine on 270.

Ah, okay. Guess I was just used to GT5 having settings for everything via their own menus. Thanks!

good luck. some people are saying it works on 900, others say no chance. lots of theories for why it is behaving this way...but everyone's wheels work perfectly in FM3 so it's pretty much assumed to be a bug in FM4...pretty lame if you ask me :(

oh well, 270 is still tons of fun.

Once I play with enought, I am going to be sharing a Nissan skyline with a weird tuning package that should be fun.

I found 270 not working for me (I kept over-correcting).. I upped it to 720 and it seems to working pretty well right now. Also, I haven't noticed any notchiness in the steering yet. Not sure if its because I'm using a Miata..

have you had any issues with getting credits/xp in world tour mode?

it could be that i'm mistaking subtle force feedback effects for notchiness...hard to focus on it when i'm trying to drive :D

Ok, so I have actually had some time to play some of the higher level races. I had to restart due to my recent Gamertag change.

Everything seems more "real". I race with the original MS wheel and the feeling of driving is so much more than FM2 and FM3 ever was. It's very easy to intuitivly know what angle the car is just by the feel of the wheel. The FF is spot on. The RWD cars (my favorite) are much more indictive of what you should expect when racing. The oversteer is much more real and I can finally feather the throttle and steer with the rear wheels properly!

The AI is nuts. Aggressive and stupid. I've pretty much resigned myself from taking them out as I pass them cause if I don't, they'll just come into my line as I try to pass them if I do so cleanly. It is more challenging as they're all pretty much the same level as my car in whatever class we're running, but they could use some work. I've had to turn rewind back on just because I was tired of restarting due to the AI.

The cars seem faster. Maybe it's just the notion of speed, but starting at A600, the cars just feel faster. Maybe it's cause my A600 car is a Camaro and my S700 car is a ZR1 which are both HP monsters and thus even harder to race cleanly, but the notion of speed just feels much more clear. The ZR1 is a PITA to keep straight, but I'm loving every minute of it. It actually feels what I would imagine it should feel.

The game is diverse. While it would be easy to say that I don't remember racing the same track twice, there's more to it than that. The Top Gear challenges, the autocross tracks, the one-on-one with traffic. Each of these haven't existed before, and they're a much welcome break to the monotony of racing. I also appreciate that races alternate between 8-12 cars with you starting somewhere in the middle.

Overall, I'm loving the game. To anyone that says it's just FM3 with some prettier graphics have not played the game. All I've been doing is racing and leveling with what little time I've had. I will eventually get to rivals between the club and multiplayer, but with my limited time, I'm going to concentrate on leveling.

try driving the dbr9 on the nurburgring with the wheel. it's heaven.

also turn up your sound system, take it to the bernese alps, and downshift in the tunnel :D

Lotheron, i think the domestics are under represented, or simply bad. When I run the 355 with the euros there's always the big ass murciolago and 599 pulling away at straights. But when I run us or japan, there's simply no competition. Often I could out run all of them by the end of the first turn.

PSA: i believe the game defaults to "TV" sound settings which makes it sound like crap. If you have speakers hooked up, go to your profile->audio settings and set it to "Home Theater". Big improvement.

i wish you could rev the engine yourself in autovista mode

Do you always start in 6th place? I liked how in FM3 your starting position got better with your driver level. However, I'm at level 39 now and still starting in 6th place!

Seems like it depends on the event, not driver level. Most events have you starting 6th with the exception of the mixed level races, where you seem to start at the head of whatever group you're racing in (I believe). Apart from special events where there's fewer than 6 cars, I'm always starting 6th as well.

Dialed it down to 540, haven't seen the bug hit yet. Is there a button for LT on the CSR? I always get those mail notifications.. but can't access them with any button I press.

brake pedal works, but only if you're in the menus.

Ok, riddle me this auctionhouse afficianados!
Why, in the hades, do they not have proxy bidding yet? Is there a downside to it? There's no way I'm sitting in the auctionhouse and bidding up the car one at a time, when I could just set my max price and go to work and forget about it. It's been like that since Forza 2, 3 for sure. Must be a reason.
