Monoprice is amazing. Congrats!

What TV did you get?

Thanks. Got a Mitsubishi WD60638, it's a 60" DLP.

you've been playing FM3 in SD this whole time?

boy are you in for a treat!

Yeah been gaming on a 32" Toshiba SD CRT that we bought back in the xbox / PS2 days. Although to be honest the picture was and still is pretty good on the thing. Moved it into our bedroom now.

True, but some people have never used manual transmission, much less MT w/clutch. I always use TC and ABS while famous uses neither. So not only am I trying to race, I'm trying to learn how to drive all over again...

I found a Viper setup that works really well with no assists... sticks like glue... as long as you exercise throttle control. I tried running again with clutch... very hard, but I can make it work (most of the time).... My problem with clutch, is when I have to brake coming into a corner and downshift at the same time.... fingers get all bound up. I guess it could potentially make me a better driver... as I'd be forced to brake and down shift in a straight line before entering the turn.

I already have an A600 GTS and an A600 TVR of some sort so I didn't bother to make a new car. Hopefully they're up to snuff.

R class is quite tricky and you spend the least amount of time driving it in the game, so fewer people are skilled with them. Plus, I dunno about everyone else, but I like driving "real" cars that I can actually own or at least aspire to own ;)

Grats Hopeless! You won't be disappointed. Going from a 32" SD to a 60" HD is going to be a fantastic upgrade. Just don't compare an SD picture on the new TV to an SD picture on the old TV. Crap in, crap out.

Hhmmmmph! I actually like the "R" class. Meaning R3 & R2.... R1 cars are little crazy...

Ok, so I for one (amazingly) really liked no assists driving. I may try turning TCS and ABS off from now on, although it's gonna be a rough learning patch for sure...but it definitely takes more finess but when it works it's alot of fun.

No clutch may happen...maybe not.

Good races last night!

Yeah SD using screw in coax isn't all that great, really just so-so unless you stand way back, but I've got a couple HDMI cables coming which I've got my fingers crossed will be here by this weekend. Then I can see what I really think of it.

I did that gamestop trade in to get a slim and didn't find out until I got it home, but it only comes with normal composite for video, no more component out of the box.

Last night was a good time, had some bumps but it was one of my better racing nights so far. Getting the consistency down, now I just need to get faster :)

I was surprised to find many use braking lines and TCS. I've always run ABS and clutch only. I even went sans-ABS for a while and liked it, but turned it back on for the multiplayer races since one bad move could send me to the back of the pack. No rewind there! ;)

Yea, I use ABS and usually have the braking line turned on during the MP stuff. I like to know where everyone is braking so I don't ram into them. Learning to ignore the damn line was one of the hardest things I had to do.

My mom is married to a Brit and I'm a huge Top Gear fan, so yes in the American way of speaking it's Wednesday night fun in your Mom's sedan. B500 no aero and a compromised tune for the assisted vs unassisted driver.

Yeah, my copy should arrive on Tuesday evening. I'm undecided as to whether or not I'll race.

I'm not a big Halo fan (at all really) but it is a new game...
