I missed a lot today.... Going to see if I can reply to everything now, haha.

I use a controller
ABS on
TCS off
STM off
Manual transmission (I've seen the auto do some stupid shit, I don't trust it, and I want the control)
I use the braking line but it's more of a guide to when to start braking if I'm right behind someone and can't see the track. The line lies like hell so I don't try to use it too much. I'd probably be better off without it eventually, if I had the time to put towards practicing every track with every car we run. I don't desire to spend that much time so having the braking line as a starting point works out.

Most memorable moment... I've been racing so long that it's hard to think of too many specific instances any more.
- My first night racing, I was hanging with Waldo, at that point not even knowing skill levels of the racers (most of whom were there that night are gone now, anyway) and someone was like "who the heck is that sticking with Waldo?"
- The Eagle Talon wreck was berzerk. Insane.
- I think this was ricer night, too. Arby and I split someone (CK, maybe? I can't remember for sure) fighting for positions and we ended up taking out all three of us. There's not many places on Suzuka where you can go three wide.

The page number thing is one of the things that pisses me off so much about Fusetalk. Other forums have the ability to link to a post by the post's ID number, which gets around the whole page numbers being configured differently. Yay, another reason to hate Fusetalk!

Most memorable moment - setting up the corkscrew on Laguna with Arby just ahead in first. I was set up to have a perfect turn-in and full throttle all the way down on the last lap. About the best I can take that turn and knowing I would get first with that move.

Then BAM! OSJ blows me off the course.
🙂

Assists are ABS (although I rarely set it off)
TCS depending on car, use it more as a savior with high HP cars
Braking line to assist in when to brake, agree that it's pretty inaccurate.
MT - really helps especially with high torque cars as you can go up a gear early if you need to

Check the old thread as CK posted some very good pics of the incident. Of course the replay is much better.

The wreck basically took out everyone except Queasy.

If you scroll back a page or 2 I posted in this thread about it and linked to the proper page.

Yes, the sad part was I thought I had the race locked up but Waldo came from way way back and caught me on the last lap.

I used the wheel for every race except this past week and I had my best week. I have all assists turned on, I guess I should try STM off.

Most memorable moment- this past week at sebring. I started first and got a nice lead while you guys were playing bumper cars. I'm 2nd with a few laps to go with 2 c5's catching me in the corners but I get away some in the straights. I drop to 3rd near the end of the twisties but catch up on the back straight. We go into and come out of the final turn side by side and I stole one because the c6 is a beast. 🙂

Waldo mentioned it back when I first started and my lap times got better without it. Although some turn it on for C&M when running as a cat.

Here is the Suzuka incident Ty is mentioning: not so bad

And the 3 wide at Suzuka left to right Me, CK, OSJ going well that's not gone well

And my take on the situation the next day:

"My interpretation of the Suzuka 3 wide is thus - osj and I were executing a highly skilled and well-advised double pass on CK's (cheater) lancer - when we were almost passed, CK flew into a fit of panic and/or rage at witnessing such an overwhelming display of skill and began to saw at his steering wheel like a caged monkey on crack - confident that his (cheater) AWD would carry him through (it did)

- or maybe we just shouldn't go three-wide on Suzuka 🙂 "

Gah, I'd put that unfortunate mistake out of my mind! You just had to bring it up again, didn't you? 😛 I do remember that and it was a boneheaded effort on my part, for sure. I don't remember the details, whether I thought I could out brake you, spaced out and forgot to brake, or what. Trust me, though, I've gotten plowed into just as badly and maybe worse than that incident in the same turn. Blowfish and Hopeless have both in fairly recent races taken me out in bad ways in the Corkscrew.

I guess none of us are Alex Zanardi

That was me you out-accelerated in the final straight!

Try to help a fellow driver out with a little boost of speed and this is the thanks you get. 😉

With the S cars we ran just a couple wks ago that was one of my stupidest brain fart moments. You crested the hill leading to the corkscrew while I was still down hill a bit and for some reason I went "out of sight, out of mind". I didn't start braking until my normal spot with the Panoz which lead to "there's ski.....Oh shiiit".

I still remember on C&M having all 3 cats swarming me and just kept plowing along for quite awhile until they finally got me pinned up heading to the finish line on the last lap.

lolol, that's what you call a little boost of speed? 😉 After the fact, I looked at the replay and at impact, I was going like 47 and you were going 77, lol. I stood no chance 😛

I went ahead and let 'em know that we're doing U class muscle cars this coming week at your call. Hope you don't mind me breaking the news so early!

Regarding the corkscrew. I've watched plenty of races and the line is always the same. Slow in, then basically hammer it once you go down. The apex on the first turn seems to be at the top of the hill before it goes down. It's a pretty tough turn to master but once you get it the speed you get is unbelievable and the next corner has a nook on the exit that you can use to really hold traction., if you miss it too bad, so sad.

Nope OSJ and Waldo swapped weeks unless they swapped back as Waldo was going to be unavailable next week for his pick.

Did I misread that?

I must have missed that post.

Hey i just wanted to say, that I apologize for the thing @ laguna on Wednesday. I've been dealing with my own IRL vehicle issues for the last couple days and haven't been in the thread. I know I have caused several of the pileups in the last weeks, and unless I start in the back row it either seems I am late breaking, or I check up early so i don't rear end the guy in front of me and then get punted from the back. The laguna thing was my fault. I didn't hear Skinnee make the inside call going into the turn, and the fact that I was upfront for once got the better of my judgment and I reentered the racing line before I had control. I certainly do not have the experience or skill required to race in the pack yet. I still have a hard time letting the car roll through the corner and have a tendency to late brake and the shoot apex to apex which frequently takes me the opposite way across the racing line that the good drivers use. These are certainly issues I need to address. I apologize for hampering the good times of the other racers, and don't want any of the regulars to leave on my account. I may continue with the endurance series since I will consistently start in 8th, but I may drop out of Wednesday nights until I get better.

No need to drop out of anything Quik. Nobody was pointing fingers. Its not you or me or anyone in particular. The racing just needs to be cleaned up a bit. If you drop out then you will have an even harder time learning the tracks and how to control the cars. Ask Blowfish, I straight up told him one time that he needed to learn the tracks to be better. Everyone gets frustrated, so we have to vent. Don't take it personally. If we didn't like you we would treat you like we do OSJ. Like a leper.
