As for Subie tunes, I really haven't driven them too much. If Arby doesn't mind I can post my final tune up and let you guys have at it. I certainly don't mind sharing!

Information wants to be free.

Was just wondering if the offer was still out there Waldo, since it would appear that Arby doesn't mind.
All I have is a calculator tune right now so nothing much to share that you don't already have. I think it drives decent as-is plus I hate tuning AWD cars.

I haven't even done that much yet. Started to run the calc on it Sunday but Quik asked me run some laps and see what I thought of a car he'd picked out for the endro. Ended up not getting to the WRX other than just putting the spec'd parts on it.

I actually ran skinnee out wide like that a week or two ago in the same exact corner. We never touched but he did hit the wall. I remember watching that race finish live and thinking man melo is such a dick! 🙂

What was that rolex or maybe alms race last season where 1st place ran out of gas before the finish line, second place came around the final corner and got caught behind his slowing car, and 3rd place juked around them and won? That one was sweet.

On that corner I actually like to go in a little slow and then shoot inside right past apex. The other guy will normally be getting wider and you can pass easily and keep on the throttle. Visually it's hard for me to wait for the apex - is it a double one?

I extend the corner so much sometimes I might have to worry about hitting the pit wall.

We should have a Forza Race Night meet at the 12 Hours this year 🙂

For serious, though, I really want to go to the race there at least once while I live close to it. I'd love to go to the 24 Hours at Daytona as well. I'm about 2 hours or so from Sebring and just over an hour from Daytona.

Ya, sebring is a quick 21 hour jaunt from my house. Road America is the closest at 5 hours, but that includes a 61 mile ferry ride straight across lake michigan.

Petite Le Mans @ Road Atlanta is the most fun I've had around here as far as racing is concerned. Went to a NASCAR race a few years back in the fall and while it was awesome for a 1 and done type thing, I don't think I will go back.

Anyone who's having trouble with the WRX setup, the tune that popped out of the tuning calculator works almost perfectly for me. I upped the downforce comp, other than that everything's the same.

What are we running? wait...what? I'll be on for testing.
Found it
Arby spec build
Team Fed in the A
I had red mirrors queasy has the black and RPD had yellow

Ok the pick for next week is as follows.

It's a spec-build WRX "club racer" build to encourage close racing and bumping.
When you get done the specs should look like this:
A791 2005 WRX STI
Speed 5.6
Accel 6.8
Braking 5.1
Handling 4.9

HP: 342
Tq: 360
Wt. 2,406 lbs

For the engine, do race air intake and exhaust

For handling/platform, max EVERYTHInG but use STOCK transmission and differential.

Tires are Sport compound > BFGoodrich (the first option)
get the widest tire upgrade
stock wheel diameter
wheels are EnKEI RP F1 (first enkei option)

and... NO AERO PIECES

FR would have been an S2000 and MR would have been MR2s

Guys I cannot make it for sure tonight. No guessing on this one.

Have fun w/o me and I will catch you guys next week.

Thanks

Greg

I've got to drive back down to the dealership after work to do another paperwork exchange (silly me for buying a car on the other side of Atlanta). I still need to throw a car together but I'll do my best to be there tonight.

My plans changed, I should be there tonight.

Tevolo's pick is next week.

*edit* aww crap, it's starting to storm. Assuming the internet/power doesn't go out I'll be there still.

I will be there, but most likely 15-30mins late. Making dinner, but the wife isn't home yet so we are waiting on her to eat. I'll be there though. Can we get a round or two of C/M in tonight ya think? I feel like some laughs and destruction.

Alright, I'm online but I need to put a car together first. This'll be a fun night racing for me. Heh

Well, that was fun. Seemed to be a lot of crashes though. More than normal. I loved the "everyone drive the same car" pick. Makes things more interesting but also a huge wreck destroys any chance of actually winning.

Lack of Aero on a car has that impact. I hated the car because it would get loose at the drop of dime. There were some good ones on Maple Valley after you left as well.

I'm exactly the opposite, while having everyone drive the same car it means that everyone is forced into using the same driving style/tactics. I prefer a variety of cars built how each racer wants it.

As for the crashes, I'm not sure why there was so much trouble. At speed the car did NOT want to turn, but when off the gas it was surprisingly nimble, and most of the crashes were at slower sections. I know I got taken out at T1 on at least half the races we did (Mugello, Tsukuba, Silverstone, SI, Suzuka I believe...maybe MV) typically by one of two guys. I guess I can't complain as when I first started racing I was the same way, but it does get frusterating. Forza 3 needs a setting where there are no collissions for the first 15 seconds of the race and then they return to normal.

Still, I had a good time. Z06 night should be interesting as I think the C6 starts above A800, you'll get more power with it but less handling.
