So we ran up more than 2000 posts in the previous thread and decided that the thread was getting too big and cumbersome, not to mention intimidating for any new racers who may come along.

Every Wednesday at 9pm Eastern/8pm Central/6pm Pacific, a group of us meet up to play Forza 2 on Xbox 360. We run a variety of tracks and cars and a good time is had by all.

I'm going to (try to) keep the first post of this new thread up to date with all the schedules, etc. that you need to get racing.

Gamertags
Here's a list of racers that have raced in the last couple months. We've had some folks come and go and I've left the ones that haven't raced in a while off the list. Forum usernames, where applicable, are in parentheses after the gamertags. You should add everyone on this list to your friends list so you can join regardless of who is hosting.

- Blortov (chorb)
- blowfish7494 (GCS)
- famouswings (ivan2)
- hopeless sc (hopeless)
- I Kabob I (kabob983)
- NWIC QuikWgn (QuikWgn)
- OneSkinneeJ (Supermercado)
- Queasy1 (Queasy)
- Quint0x (Quintox)
- RPD361 (rpd361)
- tevolo (scorp00)
- Waldo J (Abel007)

Car Pick Schedule
We're on a rotating car picking schedule, where each racer gets their chance to pick out the car(s) that are eligible for racing each week. Each week's picker also has their choice of up to two rounds of "gimmick" races (cat and mouse, relay, last man standing, everyone wreck CK, etc.) and if they want to run an extended length race, and which track to run it on. Here's the latest pick schedule:

7/22 - tevolo (S998 Vette vs Viper)
7/29 - Waldo
8/5 - QuikWgn
8/12 - famous
8/19 - Hopeless
8/26 - Lotheron
9/2 - Queasy
9/9 - Blowfish
9/16 - Kabob
9/23 - OneSkinneeJ

-------------------------------------------------------------------
7/22 Car Pick Information

Vette vs Viper S998
only restriction is you have to run slicks

If the above DLC list isn't accurate, let me know and I'll update it. Make sure to let me know (preferably via PM in case I miss it in the thread) so I can keep it current.

I think that about covers everything we've got going on right now. I'll keep this thread updated as needed.

Those of you with links in your signatures to the old thread, be sure to update the links to point to this thread.

Yeah, I'm going to have to start kicking around ideas for my next pick even though it's two months away. We've done a lot of races already and I want to make sure I pick something original and fun when it comes to be my turn.

Perfect on the new thread OSJ. This way it'll be easy for any newcomers/late arrivals to easily figure out what they need to build.

Yeah, we'll see what time I make it. I assume I'll be working until 7:00, if I can dash home and jump on then all is well...

But my wife wants to go running tonight, and who knows what else...

Can't make it, sorry. I'll tell you what I built.
Audi S4, full race platform, full racing tires/width, lightest wheel possible. all race aero.
Sport block and then more engine to get it to s998.

What a rocket - 600 HP, flat torque curve. I'm sure if I did some tuning I could get it to handle better and tame some of the understeer.

I'll be there tonight but I'm going to be slapping a car together at the last second again (I need to prioritize my activities better;)). Maybe I'll borrow spidey's build.

Is your friend who you told us to add (which I forgot to do) joining in tonight??

Yeah, I'm kinda curious to see what everyone chose tonight.

How about a race in reverse only!? I think even something as easy as the speed ring would be incredibly hard.

We've done Sunset Infield in reverse, and I believe Maple Valley in reverse as well. They're fun.

*edit* I told my friend about racing tonight, dunno if he'll join. We raced a few races and (not surprisingly with my awesome skillz) he beat me 4:3 over various tracks. He's had the game for a while but he rarely races nowadays. He spends more time in the AH and painting.

I think he means drive in Reverse here Ty not the reverse of the track.

I have finished quite a few C&M races in reverse and I can tell you it's a b*tch driving in reverse in Forza (especially when everyone is slamming into you ;) )

Talked the the wife, assuming we get off at 7 I'll be on when the racing starts!

I say we try a longer race at RA or something tonight. Maybe a 10 lap race.

I'm definitely down for longer races. In general, really, but we can definitely take advantage of the speed of S class cars. Lap times at Road Atlanta are well under 1:25 so we wouldn't be looking at all that long of a race. I'm down for a longer race on pretty much any track, too. Road Atlanta would be one of my preferences, along with Laguna Seca, Sebring, Maple Valley maybe.

My only concern with longer races would be people dropping out and missing 10-15 minutes of racing. If everyone's connections are solid tonight, my vote for a longer race is yes.

True, forgot about the connection problems.

Road Atlanta gets my vote as "the long track" simply because it's the one that I think the majority of people know best (well, Laguna as well, although I'm not as much of a fan of Laguna) and seems to present the most lead-changing opportunities.

Are we just sticking with the german cars tonight or will there be some R3 races as well?

I've been hooked on Too Human, but I do have 2 cars I put together for tonight.

Great racing tonight guys! I really like that Porsche, and I'll admit, while the wheel is more fun to use, it feels alot better to actually compete :p I'll keep practicing with the wheel but until I get better I'll stick with the controller.

And sorry for the bumps, I know I nailed Luigi and OSJ more than once.

I checked the times before I logged off, alot of new personal bests with the S classes tonight.

That's always one of my favorite parts. Speculating on who might have chosen what. It's kind of like Christmas.

Last night was good. I liked the R8 pretty well once I got used to it. Solid car.

Yeah, when I wasn't blowing you off the track you were doing well OSJ.

Oh, and after I got off I went ahead and downloaded Motegi, it's 240 points now. That works out to be about $3.00 (if my math isn't crappy). That's probably cheaper than shipping a disk around for those who don't want the cars.

*edit for crappy math...*

Other than a few decent showings with the Beetle, I had a lousy night. Sorry for all the bumps, but much of the contact off the starting line was not my fault, I swear! I think it was Maple Valley that I heard my name mentioned as a culprit, but on my screen I was clean. But overall I think I was more wreckless with the S998s than necessary, so I hope you guys and Mr. Bill will forgive me.

I had "solid" night. Nothing spectacular (2 wins and some seconds) lots of middle of the pack finishes due to some screw ups on my part on the last lap. I did get wiped out a couple of times when I was racing well but no worries.

I enjoyed the Audi I had last night. It would get a little squirrely if I didn't pay attention but overall it ran very well.

I did like the 10 lapper at Road Atlanta. It meant we had to miss out on some other tracks but that's ok.

Looking forward to one day running Motegi and Road America with you guys.

Thanks for the racing fellas.
