Did you change the gearing more for acceleration? If so, the top end is reduced. Or were you talking 0-60 and 0-100 times? If you've geared for acceleration, those times ought to be going down, but I think you can go too far and hurt them. Not sure, though, so don't quote me on that. If he sees this, Waldo could probably say for sure.

I moved the final gearing towards acceleration (to the right)...I think to 3.75 instead of 3.25...

Anyone else online yet?

I agree that 3.32 is too tall, but I think I top it out on maple valley. Can't recall. Eitherway, let's all run the same ratios/final drive for the first few races. If there is feedback then we can adjust from there. But I'm running mid 1:34s even with this gearing, so bring it!

As waldo stated that results in effectively a 4 gear car on laguna and you may touch 5th coming down to the hairpin.

Oh my god I'm going through withdrawals from not being able to race Forza until mid-May when my clinical internship gets less hectic.

Mid 130s at Laguna are probably good for a pig like the camaro 🙂 Text

Good racin' tonight fellas. Cat/Mouse was friggin' hillarious!!

Good to see all the new guys tonight too.

AJ get that XBOX swapped out and meet up with us when you get it back, love to have ya along.

Someone else pick the car for next week and we can go from there. I do like some of the suggestions mentioned though (mini-cooper, any A Class Japanese car etc.).

LMK what you guys decide.

Thanks again and see ya later.

Greg

FYI I saved both cat/mouse replays and will see if I can find the time to get some pics if someone else doesn't do it.

Good racing, if you see me online in game - just send invite.

I'm off to race random people because you guys don't love me. You bastards!!!!!! Now I have to put up with squealing!!!
😉

Wednesday = Forza Night.

Good racing, I could not care less what blowfish's rear end looked like. I never saw it.

Like I said, bring it, let's race. Me, you, blowfish on the track after school, let's bring it.

Here's my idea for next week: car has to weigh over 4300lbs, if anyone has played the career heavyweight race you'll know its hilarious to try to drive these cars on turn intensive courses like King Cobra. Plus with all that momentum flying all over the place theres bound to be some spectacular crashes.

Sorry I didn't make it tonight guys, I got nabbed by the boss just as I was leaving work to do a database project. Took me a while to do so I missed out on the fun. I'm not so sure the heavyweight racing is a good idea, we do enough crashing as is even in light & nimble cars.

My Internet connection decided to crap out after the two cat/mouse races...so that's why I left so abruptly - sorry guys!

It was nice meeting all of you and I'm definitely in for all forthcoming Forza nights!

I still have the 2nd race saved (the amazing pileup at the Start/Finish) and I'll try and get some pictures from it tonight. Cat/Mouse was freakin' hilarious!! Shoving people in the pits FTW! 🙂

I won't be available for racing next Wednesday FYI...I'll be flying out to Vegas and getting married that Saturday! I think the fiance may have an issue with me bringing the 360 along on our trip. 😉

Looks like you guys had fun! Sorry I missed out. 🙁 Looks like I am going to miss out next week as well. Still not MS Box delivered so I can ship it out.

I like the idea of the Heavyweight race. The series in career mode was a PITA! I think I drove a Cadillac and had to work hard to win because they just wouldn't slow down! Also, I like the Mini Cooper idea. Should do no weight reduction on those.

I think the heavyweight race is a great idea. There's not too many cars that weight that much, I don't think, so it wouldn't be as hard to find a car as it was to find a good A850 car a couple weeks ago. That was really rough. Limiting PI would be a good idea, since you could find a car right at 4300 pounds and put every single power mod on it.

My idea was to do any A-class Japanese car, or any B-Class German car, or any American RWD car, or any European AWD. Anything like that would allow for a variety of cars while still being limited enough to make it not too hard to pick one. I would recommend capping the PI, though, otherwise we'd do American RWD and someone would wrangle the Lingenfelter and dominate us all, etc.

Minis would be fun, too, I think. Probably fairly similar to the Elise without the RWD-ness.

Thanks for the great time last night guys! Cat & Mouse absolutely owned me by the way. I saved both replays. Can't decide what my favorite moment is. Gotta be a tie between being launched 20+ feet into the air and bouncing off the grandstands as a mouse, getting knocked into pit lane as a mouse, or as a cat ramming Skinee over and over and over on the last lap. Actually, I think ramming...I believe it was Blortov (or was it blowfish) on the final stretch and having him back it in for the win was the best. Gotta give CK the award as "biggest nemesis" to me when he was a cat...jerk!!! 😛

Sorry I wasn't a very protective cat Queasy!!

We've definately gotta do C&M again although I think if we do it too often it'd get old, but a race or two each Wednesday can't hurt 🙂

Still haven't had a chance to check out all the paint jobs. I did check Blortov's cool warthog scheme briefly when he flew past me. And CK's flowery car that once again lowers his masculinity rating a few more points.

I hate to say it, I think I'm a faster driver with the controller, but I think the wheel is more fun. Torn about what to do, buy a new wheel or stick with the controller. Wish I could just fix my current wheel but I've no clue where to start (I don't even have the tool to take it apart!).

As for next week's car, a few suggestions:

Mini Cooper - small and light, would be fun.

Ferrari P4 (or whatever it's called, the old Ferrari...not the Dino or GTO) - Dunno why, this just seems like it'd be a fun car, although driving style would probably be similar to the Z28...lots of power, not so much control.

VW Golf - Similar to the Mini, another small fun car.

R3/R4 Porsche - Why not change it up a little bit and use a race prepped car (plus I wanna get a good tune for it). I probably have enough of the #5 Xbox car to send one to anyone who needs one (I think I'm up to 7 of 'em).

R1 Audi - Same idea, change it up. With this and the Porsche's though there's enough different cars that it won't be all the same thing. Course, this would ruin the paint scheme challenge. If your lucky you can pick one of these up off the Auction House for < $10K.

Just my ideas.

Also, Waldo. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but even just swapping my 360 out I think it was 2 1/2 - 3 weeks before I got it back.

Well let's take a vote then ...

Choices are:

1 - Heavyweight car (4300lbs and over)

2 - Mini-coopers

3 - Any A-850 Class Japanese Car

4 - Any B-700 Class German Car

5 - AWD S998 Car

Everyone vote once in this thread and we can narrow it down to the top 3 and then do a final vote from there.

Let's try to decide this by tomorrow though to give everyone a chance to get the car/specs/setup/tune in plenty of time before next Wed.

Everyone cool with this idea or should I add other choices??

Greg

EDIT: My vote is below

Choice #1 - Mini-coopers
Choice #2 - Any A-850 Japanese Car

That would be me. I haven't watched the replay yet but will late tonight.

That moment was nutty as I was fighting for the finish line and got wrecked somehow and was spinning like a top (maybe 6-8 times I think). I was hoping I would just keep spinning over the finish line but it never came. Finally the spins stopped and I was facing oncoming traffic and just threw it in Reverse and floored it. Luckily the finish line wasn't too far away and I managed to make it 😀

Good night of racing all the way.

I think we need to limit C&M to once per race night at most. It was fun but I can see it getting tiresome after a while. That being said I thought it was a great way to break up the grind of all head-to-head racing as well so thanks Blortov (who hits like a girl :laugh🙂

Lets combine the two, heavyweight mini-coopers.

My choices:

3 - Mini-Cooper
2 - B 700 German car (Porsche Cayman anyone?) or A 850 (BMW M3-GTR)
1 - R class cars

*edit* how about something different like Maserati GT (the coupe) or Aston Martin/Jaguar cars. Dunno of many people who race those.

I think either the Minis or heavyweights would be fun. I guess I'll put my vote in for either of those. My suggestion(s) wasn't necessarily for this next week since a couple guys had already suggested the Mini; more for sometime in the future possibly. I sort of see it as being similar to the cup races in the single player game where you're given a spec and have to fall inside it with whatever car you want. We could come up with a lot of variety, I think, to keep things interesting.

Cat and mouse was definitely great fun last night. I'm not sure how I managed to slide by as a mouse and cross first. I think I was just able to avoid the cat pileup at the start/finish. Might have been a mouse in there, too, since coming around the last turn, I thought I was second mouse. I remember playing "cat in mouse's clothes" a couple times, too, spinning out other mice. Between that and avoiding cats, there's definitely an art to being a mouse. Then as a cat, I got so disoriented by Ty on the last lap that I may have driven myself into the pits to be honest 😛 I'm not sure quite how you did that, but man you kept hitting me exactly right so I didn't know which way was which. Luckily blowfish was able to bring it home without my assistance.

Queasy, not sure what happened on that second or third turn on the last lap of Maple Valley. I think you ended up a little wide and it looked like I'd be able to slide by but I think you didn't lose as much speed as I thought you did or might and came back to the line faster than I was expecting and we got tangled up a bit. If that was my fault, my bad. Very nice racing on your part for that whole race, though. I was on your bumper for three or four laps before even getting that slight opening.

I thought Ty had it and I was trying to come in and clear out some of the 'cats' who were trying to prevent him from crossing the finish line. Somehow, I got knocked or veered into Ty though and knocked him into the pits. 😱 That freed up you to finish first. 😛

Not a big deal. It was a clean race. I actually had a big lead but blew it by going wide on that sweeping left turn at the start of the course that allowed you to catch up. I then screwed up another corner allowing you to take the lead. You won cause you drove clean while I kept screwing up. 🙂

Bwahaha!! That was the winning comment of the night last night!

Even though I won't be able to participate, I'll throw my vote in:

2 - Mini-coopers
4 - Any B-700 Class German Car
1 - Heavyweight car (4300lbs and over)

Yeah, I couldn't really tell what was going on up ahead. I just came around the bend and saw a big mess and lots of smoke and I guess just took the right line to get through it quickly and cleanly.

Yeah, that last race was fun. I got tied up traffic getting up to you and you'd built up a nice lead so I had to race hard to even catch up and then try to find a way around. I had a couple good runs here and there but was never able to get quite close enough to get in front or even alongside you.

I know all about your secret alliance with the enemy Queasy! You just didn't want me stealing your thunder 😛 Didn't realize that it was my own teammate though who knocked me into the pits!
