+1, where's that coupon? I know there's a $10 off coupon if you sign up to use google checkout (which I could do since the CC tied to my old account is now history), so theoretically you could get it for $50 shipped if with a $20 off coupon and the GC deal...that's 1/2 retail and you don't pay tax.

I'm sorry, it's not a coupon per se. Just $20 off if you use Google Checkout. It sounds like this is a per Google Checkout account basis but you can always try to see what you get.

I've had the car since the first specs were released and I haven't even driven it yet...

I've only played singer player...does that money count in the game for using cars in MP? If so, I should be ok...I'll be home around 4:30 EST, so I'll add friends and see where the heck I left off in Forza.

I'll try and keep it clean when racing... 😛

Ha! I seem to remember you slowing waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down to help me with my lines last week when I was the "fresh meat." Methinks you're too nice to be evil (hope I don't eat those words).

And ajskydiver, your campaign credits/cars carry over to the multiplayer. So yeah, if you've got alot of $$ from single player that'll work.

2 things. First, I know I'm a new guy but I have a suggestion, why not vote for the car we use each week? We've got a poll to vote for painting, lets get some suggestions and have a poll to choose the car. Just a thought (not that it really matters).

Second, anyone happen to have a good tuning setup for the R3 class Porsche 911 GT3 RSR's?

The R3 Porsches are the devil. I had one helluva hard time racing them on the Nurburgring in the endurance race because they are so tail happy. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to properly tune a Porsche (rear engine, rear wheel drive variants) I just can't seem to wrap my head around that very well.

I just tuned the car to Greg's specs and my console locked up on the 2nd lap at Laguna 🙁 Going back in now to see if it was just a glitch or not after the update I had to do...

What lap times are competitive around here for the track tonight?

I believe the paper clip means you can race their ghost.

I agree about the Porsches. I love them, but I can't tune them worth a damn. Perhaps when I get my 360 back I'll try to work on one.

I believe mid 1:30s would make you very competitive. It isn't really the fastest lap you can pull but the consistency of them all.

A big +1 there. I'll do blazingly fast for the first lap and then add on 8 seconds/lap the next 3 which kills my time utterly. Consistent I ain't...

Well, 5 laps in (after the re-boot) and I'm locked up again!!!

I was able to pull a 1:35.124 as my fastest lap...but I definitely know what you all are talking about when it comes to consistency!

Is the tuning flexible or are we all supposed to run identical cars down to the tune (or just parts)?

I think generally we all run the same tuning since Waldo does it and does a great job with it. I think it's fine to tune the car so long as the parts are the same.

Changing gearing could yield a significant advantage.

That's one of the biggest things you can do, I think, since it affects acceleration so much. I'd rather have acceleration than top speed on most of the tracks in the game since there are very few straights where the top speed is going to make an enormous difference. Case in point is the Z06 I tuned up a few weeks ago for A850 night vs the Elise from last week. In a drag race, the Z06 would kill the Elise but even on a semi-horsepower track like Road Atlanta, the Elise is only a half second or so slower. A half second could be made up by the Z06 not having a perfect lap with no mistakes, no back end stepping out, etc.

Well, I changed the final drive only ..since it's very "tall" (I think) and you never hit more than 4th gear at Laguna...but when I checked the benchmark, it said my car should actually be slower than the Greg/Waldo's final drive...
