Yeah, I'm sure it would. But I don't want it to be so hard to drive that it's not fun. May just leave it as is and see what people think.

All the top engine mods and no handling/brakes/tires/aero mods, or add aero mods and make the downforce 0% Bet that would loosen it up just a wee bit ^^

DO NOT WANT!!!

Oh you know you do. It'd be like bumper cars or destruction derby (hey, that'd be pretty fun...last man standing destruction derby :) )

Add a tad of toe out on the F and a little toe in on the rear to snap it in line. +.1 and -.1 respectively. Also try some of the calculators, they're a decent start. I'll drive it some later tonight.

Not too bad at all. It handles like a boat which is to be expected with the old muscle cars but it ran pretty well overall. I got a 1:35 on Laguna Seca on my 4th lap once I figured out to handle it.

I'm about to try some additional settings.

I changed the differential to 60%/40% per one of the calculators but that didn't seem to make much of a difference in time for me. Actually, it controlled better with the stock differential settings.

If you use ABS brakes, be sure to set the pressure to 110%.

Thanks.

I know it still needs some serious fine tuning and I am hoping you guys can offer some suggestions there since that is the part I struggle with. The tuning I did just came from looking things up on Forza forums.

I think the gearing is what needs the most adjustment. I did feel that going through the gears quickly (ie thanks to changing the final drive ratio) got me up to speed quicker which is what I was looking for from this Z28.

The camber is off and the rear is too loose. It handles pretty well up front but the diff could use some work. Inside rear tire is breaking trac first and probably because of the stiff front setup. Getting a tad bit of throttle on understeer (front too stiff). IMHO, the whole car understeers. We're dealing with a 40 year old car however.

this is only constructive criticism, I'm playing with it right now.

Sorry, guys, that I never posted the setup I used yesterday. I got sidetracked with some other stuff and never got around to it. I'll try to get that done later so we can at least compare two setups. I'll have to try blowfish's, as well. Mine feels pretty stable so we'll see what everyone thinks.

Sounds good guys, I've got a Z28 I'll apply these to. Might as well since ATM I can't race with my bum wheel...bah.

Any of you got any clues on a fix?? Problem

Very nice, balanced car Blowfish. I changed some things on the setup. I think the car is way too tight (meaning understeer) in the corners. I only had 30 minutes this morning but here are my suggestions so far.

Notes:

The rear tire temps aren't coming up like they should. The fronts look good for race compound but the rears are staying around 175. That needs to be closer to 195.

Posted a 1:31.654 in testing on Laguna.

Tire pressure:

Front 32PSI
Rear 29PSI

Final Drive
3.23

I use 4 gears on Laguna. I haven't tested on a longer straight yet.

Front Camber
n0.4
Rear Camber
n0.2

Toe
Front 0.1
Rear n0.1

Front Caster
5.4

Anti-Roll
25.00

Differential

Acceleration 15%
Deceleration 20%

Again, these are just suggestions. Final word goes to blowfish (GCS) because this is his car. :)

Tutorials - here, here, here. Just google "forza 2 paint tutorial" or "forza 2 painting guide" and you'll find a ton of links.

That 3rd link is mind numbing...I'd go insane trying to recreate that and he did it perfectly.

k, again, sorry for the delay, but this is the Z28 I tuned up. I'll go ahead and post it here so I've got a record of it and then I'll try out yours, blowfish, and see what I think between the two. This really is just a tuning calculator but I like it pretty well, I think. Waldo, if you've got time and any thoughts/comparisons between the two, that'd be cool.

Both cars are good. My lap times are very similar in both cars. OSJ's has the top end but I think Blowfish's has the handling edge.

So...I just got a 360 Elite this weekend and picked up Forza2. I'm no racing pro, but I love this game! How can I get in on the action 'round here? :)

The "initiation" is never publicly discussed. Just show up Wednesdays at 9PM and nature will take its course.

I'm sure Guuts can take care of the initiation for us ;)!

Someone make a decision! :)

Let's just use my version since it handles a little better (that may be a good thing for some of us)

BTW I did make the adjustments that Waldo suggested and it did help with the handling and gave it a touch more pep.

I will repost the settings later tonight in a more precise/concise form since there have been changes.

The only thing I changed from Waldo's settings was the roll bar stiffness (I made it a touch stiffer) and gave it just a little more downforce as I thought the rear was slipping out from under me a bit. I will post both settings ... use what you want since some may want a looser rear end than others.

BTW I have a small suggestion for next weeks car ... how about mini-coopers?? They look like they could be a lot of fun. Yes I know I am jumping the gun here but I just happened to think of it last night (watched Italian Job last night and couldn't help but think about the minis)

Anyway settings will be up later this evening. Of course if you need them now you can piece them together from my post and Waldo's post.

Greg

I was thinking just that! I was gonna make that suggestion (raced with one last night for fun). Some sort of freaky connection between us :p

Initiation, you've gotta race against me and if you win you can't join (I need an ego boost :p ) Kidding. If you need this week's car I accidentally bought 2 of 'em and can set the 2nd one up and gift it to ya.

That'd be amazing!! Thanks so much! The GT is Open3rdEye. For that, I may just have to let you win! ;)

No problem. If you happen to be at home add Tyreal IV to your friends list (I'm at work and can't do it until tonight). Once he posts the tuning specs I'll set it up and gift it to ya.

OpenThirdEye,

You should add all of the gamertags listed on the FIRST post of this thread as they are the usually guys running on Wed Nights. If we get enough people we should be able to run 2 rooms which would be cool.

Awesome! I'll do that when I get home tonight. Thanks!
