Cool. Well I am proud to say that I have "cleared my schedule" for tonight. Let's hope it stays that way!!

BTW I will get my apology and thanks out there now for my crappy driving skills and my thanks for you guys putting up with me tonight. I'll do my best not to cause to much havoc on the track 😉

See you guys around 9ish.

Greg

i think i may miss tonight. i have an appointment at 9pm. dunno how long that will last but if im up to it hopefully ill be on around 10.

Looks like I took too long to get my car ready & now the room is full 🙁 not sure if I'll get to race tonight as there are a couple of errands I need to run now. I would like to nominate a car for next week that's a little bit of a favorite of mine. Would anybody be interested in racing with the 1994 Nissan Fairlady Z Version S Twin Turbo next week? Its not too expensive (not sure on everybody's price, I personally get a 40% discount and its 21000 CR) and its a fun to drive car.

Good racing guys.

I think in the 2 races that I played tonight I ran into Spidey twice, sorry!

Heeeey! To be fair, I hardly hit anyone tonight....well, not unless I was bumped into you, or HIT FROM THE REAR, or if Spidey was nearby and was on his vendetta against me! 😛 Ok, I did cause a bit of a mess at the start of that one race, but Spidey was just sitting on the line and I had to swerve to avoid him!

All the rest of my swerving is just my driving! ;-)

But seriously, I'm very careful, trying not to bump anyone, and yet seem to get hit a lot and that usually ends up with me getting hit a few times. I know I'm slow and my lines are bad and I brake at the wrong times... bear with me, I'm learning! And really, if you tell me that I'm holding you up, I'll do my best to let you pass unscathed... slower drivers get flagged in real races to let faster drivers get by, so I don't mind, I'm having a lot of fun. 😀

EDIT: You should post what we all did with our paint jobs, CK, if you want to... I know I don't get to see much of them except a few seconds at the starting line...

Good racing tonight guys, was a lot of fun. Already looking forward to next week and what car Waldo picks out for us 🙂

Queasy, I know I plowed into you a couple times at Tsukuba and Mugello. Not sure what happened or came over me there. Either way, sorry for wrecking you.

I took a couple replays, Sunset Infield and Maple Valley, so if CK doesn't want to or whatever, I can try to grab a few photos of everyone's paintjobs when I get home tonight.

Hmmm something tells me I may be the rear ender here ... SORRY GUYS!!

Anyway thanks for having me in last night it was a blast. Like Guuts I know I suck at this game but I will practice as much as I can and I will get better.

See you guys next Wed (unless I get banned LOL!)

Done and done:
CK 1
Guuts 1 2
OneSkinneeJ 1
Queasy 1 2 - Looks good, but that's an interesting stain you've got there... the sign on the back was great.
Spidey 1 2 - How did Spidey get sponsorships?
SuperJohnyp 1
Waldo 1 2 - Oooh a shark... scary!
Blowfish 1 - Just happy to be there. 😛

Crowning moment for the light-red #01 car 🙂

While in Replay mode (and before Guuts knocked everyone's spoilers off in the first turn of each race) I got to check out the paint jobs from all angles. Nice work guys. I only threw mine together at the last minute but a lot of them looked excellent.

Ok, I have to get this off my chest. CK, you beat me by 0.03 seconds or something minute like that. I'm not upset. I didn't cry about it, but this "light-red" crap has to STOP! You painted it pink! It is PINK! 🙂

Was a lot of fun guys. I am planning on a C class AWD car right now, probably the 2000 Audi S4 (Note: There is a 2004 Audi S4 also) but I haven't had time to do any real testing on anything to make sure it will work out well.

Question; Should we go back to B class for next week or drop it down to C class? Or even D class for some more parity. I believe A class is a little too fast for those that don't play often enough so we'll stick to the lower classes.

Beware! Shark infested waters! Yarrrrrr!

Excellent work on the paint folks!! BTW now I know what you guys meant by seeing superjohny in your rear view mirror ... that would be menacing!!

CK at least you got a shot of mine when I wasn't in last place LOL!

Good job to all.

BTW are we running the same car next week or are we going to something else?? I kinda want to get some more practice in if I can between now and then.

It was no problem doing it this week. Just an FYI, I probably won't grab and post each car's picture every week. I think the process is a bit cumbersome to warrant doing after each session. So if anyone is particularly proud of a paint job in the future you may want to make sure you save a replay or two to share.

BTW, for those that have used it, how lousy is the Replay theater in Forza 2 compared to Halo 3? The "Fast Forward" just jumps you ahead about 20-30 seconds and has a 5 second delay. So to capture the photo finish I had to sit there for a minute and click on that button 15 times just to get to the end of the race.

If it makes you feel better to say you got beat by a pink car, then be my guest. By the way, I totally ripped the light-red thing off of "Red vs. Blue" from when one of the characters on the red team gets stuck with pink a/k/a "light-red" armor. So I have to give proper credit there before someone calls me on it (...and because it's the right thing to do). 😛

Either B or C sounds good to me. I think AWD will help the less experienced drivers out quite a bit by itself. I know I'm most under control while in my AWD Audi. If I have to vote, I'll go with C class. Even though it usually ends badly, I have the most fun racing when we're bunched up so the more parity the better.

Ouch...my spirit... :brokenheart:

And yeah, the replay REALLY sucks in Forza 2. I did one of the Endurance races in Career a few weeks ago, and somehow several of the AI cars got into a pileup (I wasn't involved, I swear!) and I wanted to see what the heck happened to them, but it was like 24 laps into the race...no way I was gonna spend the time hitting "FWD" to get to that point!! Where's the darn, "skip ahead one lap" button?? Sheesh.

As for a car for next week, all I ask is for some racing slicks.

P.S. And I can't believe that not ALL of us gamer nerds didn't know that the "light red" came right from Red vs. Blue... I was laughing my butt off at CK when he was insisting that his car was "light red"... and swerving all over the road, lol!

CK! Go to the other end of the gulch for some headlight fluid, on the double! Pick up some elbow grease, too!

B or C class sounds fine to me. I agree with CK in that AWD will help plenty regardless of whether it's B or C. They really stick to the road no matter what you do. Are there even any D class AWD cars? I'm not familiar enough with the car lists. Personally, I think B is a good mix of speed and ease of use. Add in the AWD and it could work very well for us.

I'll vote for B. With all wheel drive and a decent tuning the car should really stick and you can really throw it around for some good racing. Let's put some super sticky tires on it.

-edit-
Wind up in a B class after upgrades.

It will probably depend on what car we start with. I actually sent Waldo a message recommending the Eagle Talon, I bought one last night and tuned it to C and it was pretty good with my horrible tuning skills. It was only 5K credits to start with also.

I usually play a few nights a week, I may not be the best driver so if you want to try out a new car/tuning on a unexperienced driver I will happily be a guinea pig.

This is "Blortov" btw

The Eagle Talon or the Eclipse GSX (Same car, different branding) are good candidates. I'll post the car tonight after I get home and get a chance to look at them all.

Anything that helps us noobs is fine with me

Thanks again for putting in the effort on this guys as I wouldn't really have a clue as to which car to go with for some of this stuff.

BTW what was that really big track we raced on that Waldo likes so much?? I would like to run that a few more times as I enjoyed it as well even though it gave me fits.
