Fine - I can't fit it in either, but yet I do. You'll be back. 🙂

I still can't decide on race tires for my car or not. I actually think I'm faster with more power and sport tires (or whatever ones are right below race).

Thanks, that's what I figured. I'm actually not having any trouble getting the tires up to temp on the cayman - in the 180-190 range. You can really feel when you're at a good temp because the car really seems to grip.

I think I've been shooting for 6.0 on all ratings but the speed is difficult to get up there. No worries, I think I'm getting 155 on the road atlanta straight.

I'll be practicing tonight if anybody is interested in running some.
 
Sometimes I wonder if what is best for hotlapping while alone on the track is not the best for the actual racing. When I'm testing a car the fastest ones tend to be the lightest ones with lower HP that rely on carrying speed through corners. Their lap times come in better. I feel like I have problems in races though because I can catch up to people in the corners but going the the corner and coming out I get blocked off or if I force the issue, ran off. So I'm wondering if there is a better balance.

Did some weird things last night and it's running great. What's wild is it REALLY sounds like a porsche. Somebody will have to volunteer to host, I would but ISP is still acting up.
 
I think I may have to bow out for tonight fellas. My wife's car is dumping anti-freeze so I need to find out what's wrong with that when I get home. I haven't had time to so much as buy the Porsche since last week either. 🙁

Seriously though, I think I bought a U999 Cayman on the AH a while ago, I'll just detune it to get it to 850.

One possible snag: If OSJ is coming, our networks seem to have a bit of a conflict. So I wouldn't want to damn him to a night of dropped connections.

Having a good handling car is about patience. Unfortunately the number of laps we race doesn't reward patience as much as it should. An increase in laps would reward patience a lot more and put better handling cars at a premium. The flip side to more laps is the less experienced drivers would get bored and not want to race anymore. The field of drivers would be spread out and racing "hot laps" during a race would be a reality. The plus side would be someone who jumps out to a huge lead wouldn't feel as safe as they typically do. Having a lead of 5 seconds on 2nd place with only a lap to go is nowhere near as tense as having a 5 second lead with 10 laps to go.

We've never determined yet if it's you connecting to me or if there's just some issue between us, so there may not be a problem. I'm available to host if need be, whichever. I got a new toy today but I think I'll have played with that to the extent possible before 9 so I should be around for the whole thing.

Didn't like the trigger of the 870, I have big hands and the trigger opening was too small especially since it will be used in the dark.

oh - OSJ said he had a new toy to play with. I can't think of a better new toy than a firearm.

Heh, no, it's not that. The first of three shipments containing my new home theater sound system arrived today. The receiver but nothing else, so I can't do a whole lot at this point.

Motorcycle. Getting a new one since CK is out somewhere joyriding on my old one by now. Hope he hasn't painted it "light red" though...
 
Ok, so I "hope" I can make it tonight, we keep losing power. It's finally been on for a few mins but man, it's getting annoying.
