Hey, your luck is better than mine at least...walked outside to ride my motorcycle to work and...it was gone. Someone stole it in the night. <---Pissed off beyond all belief...

I had two bike stolen while in college (Gainesville)...a brand new '95 GSX-R 600 and than a brand new '97 TL-1000R (less than two months old). It's pointless to have a bike without a garage. 🙁

Sorry to hear - you'll probably have to refuse your insurance company's first two or three offers on your bike...but hopefully you won't be too hurt financially.

Good luck!

Fellas I am planning on being on for race night tonight. I definitely won't be 100% as the last 2 days have been a killer and I am running on empty, add to that I have an ear infection in both ears now yipppeee. So I apologize if my driving is a little more erratic than usual (is that actually possible??)

See you at 9pm.

FYI what is everyone running this week if I may ask?

Greg

You...you were a Gator?? HERACY!! (kidding).

Only had liability on it (I was SURE any thief with half a brain would have nabbed the '07 YZF-R1 Raven sitting nearby instead of my '06 SV650S), so I won't get a cent for it.

Really though I'm not as upset as I'm sure I should be.

Well, my prior username was AJ_UF (changed it due to the _ - I couldn't update my profile, and now it matches my live name)!

Wait, they took your SV and left an R1?! Wow, they must have been learner theives: "Dude, we can't steal that R1, it'll kill us...let's take the SV instead!" 😛

Ouch, regarding the insurance -- that really sucks. 🙁

Most painful part is that I had a track day at Barber coming up this Tuesday and now I can't ride 🙁 🙁 🙁

Was gonna be my first track day since '06.

Mid-length races are a good idea I think. Starting in the back with 3 laps to make it to the front typically sucks and forces a little more aggressive driving than really needed. I know that it is fun and it is a game, but the fun part, for me at least, is seeing if I can get to the front without taking everyone out. If I were to be a little more relaxed and have some more time I would enjoy it even more than I do now. But, I enjoy racing no matter what so the mass vote should definitely decide. Hoping to have my 360 back for next week!

Oh, stop by BestBuy tonight and pick up a new one, then sell the replacement on fleabay 😛 (kidding).

I went ahead and just returned the elite to Best Buy (it made it 13 days - the disc drive stopped reading everything and made a funny noise when it tried...) and got a "Pro" or something from Sams with a 3 year replacement...and spent less money, got an extra controller & play and charge AND it's got HDMI...so all is well. Hooked up now and re-downloading songs for Rock Band...and than I'll be practicing in Forza!

That's pretty much how I feel. Starting at the back is tough and is a real challenge. If I know I have a long way to go, I tend to push it a little more and I think that's where I get into trouble with wrecking people. Another 2 or 3 laps on most races would be a good compromise between short races and long races.

Woo hoo, today just keeps getting better. The wife's car (the new WRX) got hit in the parking lot...I think someone's out to get me!!

Hopefully I'll be able to get on tonight but I'm not counting on it. I'll try to take a pic or two of the car (I'm so proud of it!!) if I can't.

Had fun racing! I promise to post pictures of the monster fish we're going to catch. And if I don't then that just means somehow the pictures got deleted.

Solar flares and the danged a few Bit Error Event can wreak havoc.

Had a great time tonight guys! Helped take my mind off the whole mess. Gotta say, Blortov's and Blowfish's cars really stood out in my mind. Blort...you need to sell that on the AH. I bet you could pull in $150,000-200,000 each with that thing (people will pay alot for a really good paint job, although you'll get more on a more popular car). And Blowfish...being a Star Wars geek I just ate that up 🙂

Idea for a future pain scheme courtesy of Skinee...why don't we have a "realistic race team" paint night. Instead of dollying the cars up with anything make it look like a race car. That means sponsors, number plates, the whole shabang. Doesn't have to be a real team, just look the part. Just a thought.

Anyways, lemme know what cars we choose for next week. I vote All American but honestly I'll be up for anything. I'm gonna have to borrow someone's tuning skills as it is.

Ha, good luck. Sounds like fun.

Great racing, guys. Sweeping the Cat & Mouse with AJ and my last-man-standing win by default at Nurburgring were a blast. I felt really good about the whole night until I blasted OSJ on a King Cobra hairpin in the last race. 😛 My apologies.

I'm not even sure what happened there. I think I saved the replay to look at paintjobs but I'm not entirely sure that I hadn't messed up and given you no place to go. No sweat, either way.

Yep. The ring was my worst performance by far and the multiple spins thing was in full effect on the ring. I just couldn't keep things in check there for some reason.

Thanks Ty. I think the SW car turned out pretty good. I think she had a few other things in mind for it too but we just kinda ran out of time. As is this was her most involved paint scheme. I believe Vader was about 300 layers all by himself (thank goodness for the copy from one side to the other feature LOL!).

I really liked your Pacman car myself and what I saw of Blortov's was his usual excellent work. Truthfully I don't think I even got a decent look at anyone elses paint job other than AJ's backside which I seem to see a lot of last night. That and that damn Ferrari of OSJ.

Last night was good it is was nice to be competitive for 90% of the races. The Audi gave me the edge on the start and a few corners but you guys easily had me on top end speed which became a problem in a few spots.

As you guys have said before though if run a good clean steady race you often can win or finish high up because of the crashes and too much speed into turns incidents etc and last night I had some of the cleanest racing I have ever done. Still had too many "slide off the track moments" but overall it worked well for me.

Waldo -- nice to have you back, although my higher places finishes will now drop a notch or 2 😀.

Lets try to pick out next weeks car today or tomorrow. I am busy all day Friday and Sat but will have some practice time I can spare on Sunday.

What are all the choices being tossed around anyway??

I really need to get out and run some laps on that track to get a better idea of it. The 575 did handle it nicely when I wasn't screwing up, though.

Don't hate! For serious, though, I really really liked the 575. If I'm being honest, I think it turned out brilliantly. I could post the tune if any of you guys wanted it. It's a front engine RWD, unlike most Ferraris that are mid-RWD.

Consistency really is key. You don't have to run the fastest lap of the race so long as all of your laps are good and you keep your nose clean.

We've talked about several, I think. A couple I can think of right off the top of my head are an all-American night (Vettes, Vipers, Mustangs, etc.) and a rotating "pick a car and track" and we race that. Each person would get a turn to pick a stock car and track and we race that. I like both ideas. There were a few more that I don't think are more than a dozen or so posts back in the thread.

That 1st race would have been mine and OSJ's if that dreaded CK hadn't come along!! Arrggghhh ... I was right there too and I just managed to miss Waldo and 1 second later WHAM!! I am up in the air picking up the pieces and out of the running. That finish line just couldn't get there fast enough. Another classic Cat and Mouse moment.

Gotcha I'll scroll through and see what all the suggestions were and toss in my 3 cents worth as well.

Greg

Ok looks like suggestions are

S998 All American Night (Vipers, Vettes, Mustangs, etc)

Rotary engine night! Grab some lube and start your Wankels. RX-7s / RX-8s at their finest.

Stock night! We can only use the default cars in each class, everyone gets a turn to pick the car and track, no complaining. (not sure how painting will work for this)

Damage race

Past suggestions that haven't been done as well

WRX night

All Japanese car only A Class night

R-Class night has been tossed out several times as well

Am I missing some??

Perhaps toss up a poll and pick from there?? Highest vote is what we run next week??

Greg

EDIT: My pick is either the S Class All American night or the All Stock race. Of course if we go with all stock each person would need to pick their track and car in advance and post the tune for it so we would know what we are supposed to run or is this a "surprise" type deal??

I'd like to do an R1 class night...just to see where we're at -- plus, we could do a lap or two more since lap times should be significantly shorter!

I also like the idea of a stock car night -- any sports car that you'd see in real life like the 350Z, S2000, WRX, etc.

I haven't played Forza in some time now. I never did play online, just used my free month of gold for the AH. Read a few posts from people that ran into some "pro" types that gripped about every little bump and scrape. After reading some of this thread I might have to start looking into getting the xbox hooked up and get a gold account. I played the SP with no dmg to anything, how are you all playing in these MP races?

While I did have my month of gold I bought the other region only cars, tried to buy some of the cars that were going for cheaper than the dealership and sold a few of the region only cars that I had access to. I did manage to get the all cars achievement. I didn't really pay attn to what the cars looked liked just tried to get them for the achievement.

I started looking through my garage and one of the ones I'd bought had a very distastful design on it so I deleted the design off the car, but the small icon along the bottom of the garage still shows it. Is there a way to get it to not show up there as well?

We play with cosmetic damage on. No engine or handling damage.

I honestly don't know about that one.
