Whatever we run, doesn't matter to me.

I find I drive a lot better if I get to spend some time with the car.

I'm not even sure I have the car, actually. Didn't you say it was one you had to win? Don't suppose you by chance remember how to win it?

The car is the Exige Cup 240, you have to win the Factory Spec Exige Races which means you have to be able to purchase the regular Exige. I dont remember what you need to do to be able to purchase the regular Exige, but I think it cost about 65000.

For simplicity's sake, we should just run the regular Exige or Elise (waldo tuned of course)

I'm pretty sure I've got the regular one - both Exige and Elise - but I've not spent that much time in the factory races. If getting the Exige Cup 240 requires winning a series plus the spending of money for the car plus parts, my vote goes with one of the regular ones for sure, like you said, for simplicity's sake.

I don't really have a big preference as to what we race. I just like to have some time with the car like spidey so I can get a good feel for it before we race.

Ha, I can't wait to see the difference between what I ended up trying last night and what you come up with.

Looks like I am going to have to make an executive decision. How about B Class Lotus Elise 135R? Not too much power but will handle like a dream (I Hope!)

I changed it to an A class. It was way too slow in the B class and handles exactly the same in A or B.

The tuning is via the flash based calculator I posted previously. I have tweaked some settings a tad. The car still needs some work but this will get you started.

Posted time on Laguna Seca 1.26.450 with a controller. Can definitely improve!

***EDIT***Moved car setup to another post. It is further along in the thread

I see what you did - made a grip monster with plenty of movement up front. Basically a CART car.

To be perfectly honest, the Elise has always scared the crap out of me. If your lines are good, the car is good. If your line is off the car flips out and pitches a hissy fit. I have never been able to work out why. It might just be me. It is my unicorn perhaps.

These little Lotuses are like go-karts. They're great.

I took some photos of the wreck at the start of Laguna last night if anyone's interested. I had a front row seat and narrowly avoided two collisions. Crazy. They display out of order but numerical order is chronological.

What tires? I assume AVON?

WALDO - I see why this car is so tough on you, look at the TQ/HP curves. From what I've watched of your driving you like consistent/flat torque. The curve on this car can REALLY bring the diff into the equation. I know I shouldn't be giving you any advice as you utterly kill me, but look there.

LOL

You know you could probably have a weekly comic strip of sorts based upon one of the wrecks we have each week. Just call it AT's Forza Funnies. ;)

Edit: Btw where's the voting thread for this week's paintjobs?

Even with the off-roading, I'm pretty sure he wasn't involved in that wreck until he got hit as blowfish slid across the track. It was pretty wild. You guys were four wide for a second, but Queasy accelerated past and came away clean.

Not sure I remember this wreck but I believe I saved this skid out on this one and managed to stay in the race ok. My problem Wed was that since I had a slower car than you guys I got hit in the rear A LOT. And when that didn't happen I got clipped on my side towards the rear and spun out. I know I hammered Queasy myself at least 3 times though.

I'll agree though about the "Forza Funnies" as we have some good moments out on the tracks and then when you see them in pic form it's just too funny (of course the little comments help with that).

BTW anyone have a shot of the last Maple Valley Race at the finish for me where I handed to spidey by driving like an idiot and spinning out?? I know spidey wants to see it (not sure I do LOL)

I've been waiting on Waldo to send me pics of his car. I hadn't downloaded any of the DLC cars so his car came up as just a green blob for me. If someone else wants to take at least 3 pics of Waldo's car and post them up, please do and I'll get the paint job poll up.

Laguna Seca wreck

Thanks for this, now I know what happened on this race. I was very confused when this wreck happened since I was running along fine and the next thing I know I'm spinning like a top.

BTW pic ls4 is classic --- looks like me and Waldo are making a sammich and the Lotus was the meat in between our 2 slices of bread :D

Mmmmm tasty!!

Yeah, you were clean on that one. It looked like CK came down on you just a bit and sent you spinning across in front of him into Waldo. CK slid right in front of me. As you spun off the right side of the track, I had just the slightest window of opportunity and punched it. As you came back on the track, your momentum nearly took me out. As one of the pictures shows, I was clear by about a foot. I watched the replay from your view and it was incredibly close. Good driving on your part to recover!

I've got replays with Waldo's car in it but I won't be able to get pictures until early tomorrow afternoon. Going to be out tonight and back very late. If no one's taken any by then, I'll take some of Waldo.

Darn right I came down on the track, look at Mr. Sex-on-Wheels progression from ls2-ls4. I didn't want that slutty car rubbing on mine. :p

In hindsight, I should have tried not giving ground and kept him pinned to the right wall. I figured he was coming down on me sooner rather than later and I thought I had room to my left. So I owe you one, blowfish.
