Forwarding Yahoo account to Gmail account?

So as you may or may not know, Yahoo charges $20/yr for email forwarding, a charge I'm not terribly interested in paying.

Does anyone currently have their Yahoo mail forwarded to Gmail a different way?

AFAIK there's no alternative. Email forwarding is something that would have to be done on Yahoo's end.

If you want to forward your Gmail to Yahoo, they support free forwarding. 😛

you can get a program to do this, although it's against yahoo's free email account policy.

IMO the yahoo spam filter is a joke, whereas the gmail spam filter is great. that alone makes it worthwhile.

I recently transferred all my Excite.com email to GMail. First, use that program to download all the email from the webmail client. Then I wrote my own Java program to split the database file up into .EML files, which are readable by Windows Mail. Windows Mail has IMAP access, which is how you get the messages to GMail.

this stuff reminds me of the year or two I put all my emails through mailwasher to try and curb spam. Fat chance in hell that actually did something.

Gmail's filters are great. Yahoo is worse than Hotmail... both very much behind Gmail.
