I seem to be having speed issues on a number of sites. Some work fine, others meh.

Same here. I did a tracert and from here I start getting hops with slow speed after it hits BR2.NYC4.ALTER.NET [152.63.20.221]

I'm in the northeast US so that makes sense.

Net slowdowns on Sundays are pretty common. My understanding is that it's a popular day for maintenance.

I don't know if it's true, but some threads on broadband reports mentioned that alter.net is my ISP's backbone (FIOS), so I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. But everything is pretty slow tonight.

it was pretty funny when I saw it.

At first I didn't see anything of note and thought what's wrong; then I saw it and laughed.
