Forums SLOW for subscribers

is there a problem?
is it my ISP?
my pc?
last few days the forums have timed out on me 3/4 of the time I try to read a thread.

I noticed that this morning and some last weekend. They're not slow, they just time out immediatly. I blame it on my university's internet and move on 🙂

One issue is a nic that is bad, it will drop packets as said quite a few times, it's being fixed. Note the maintenance time above 🙂.

I'm guessing that's why I am getting a "unable to display page" error every so often? Packet loss?

yeah the forums are slow on my side too...
i was gonna wait until after the forum maintenance to post this, but i just wanted to comment too. 🙂

No, still slow as heck.........
IF THE PAGE LOADS AT ALL!!!!! :|
Something is wrong. Might be my end, but it is definately wrong.

glen that's your end, completely fine here. Now the NIC wasn't replaced as the NOC (GRRRRRRRRRR) Couldn't find the NIC we sent, so as soon as they find it we will be replacing it in subscriber. Other than the very occasional packet loss there are no speed problems.

<< Forums seem snappier this morning for me. 🙂 >>

Agreed 🙂

Not nearly as many timeouts when replying to messages as before 😀

Good job, Zuni, et. al.

Ok, so how do I figure out the trouble?
And, if it is my ISP, how the heck am I EVER going to convince them it is there problem?

So that part of the maintainance wasn't able to be done. DOH.

glen, the problem may still be with the NIC
