All you guys having slowdowns, have to tried to disable active scripting while your here? (Javascript) -- and see if it is faster for ya??

Forum is unusable when I am logged in, but if I log out (and stay logged out) I can browse the forum without any problems. I log in and it sits there for 10+ mins waiting for the server to load a page. Log back out and it works fine again.

What gives?

I've asked this multiple times myself. Also, loading direct thread links are usually ok bit trying to open categories yields very poor performance.

Right now.. the forum is pretty nice.
I did notice a outage earlier today, (nothing would show at all when you hit the forums), but now, no real delays in loading time.

Indeed, the forums went down for a couple of hours this afternoon, at least. Our server gurus were right on it, but solutions proved elusive for quite some time. Brace yourselves, because we may not be completely out of the woods yet. 🙁

Here the same issue, the forum was unreachable for a while i think yesterday or Monday evening.

But ever since, the page loading of the forum is very slow. It is as if it is extremely busy.

It is back again... trying to get to this section took 42 secs. (confirmed with firebug)
I tried both with and without JS enabled, with and without ad blocking... made no difference.

But did you try when you were logged out? That has been a pancea for me. I can't rightly complain when I have been adblocking for years now, but it might be good to know logging out fixes "the problem" which seems to be common and not going anywhere.

WTF is going on here?

It's obviously an ongoing issue effecting only logged in users. Someone or some forum bot (either with or without permission) is actively hacking and tracking logged in users and their posts, or an undetermined add bot hacker is hard at work farming the logged in user list somehow, since the active user list of who is logged in is posted publicly. The local city website I help manage is constantly attacked by unknown hackers and bots originating from China ISPs that even go so far as attempting to hack the admin password on a regular basis.

Sorry folks, been having the same issue. Was trying to get into the Video Cards thread...wouldnt load. Every Computer I go to between home and 2 offices act the same.

SO no new news just thought I would add to the volume.

The Boyz In The Server Room, the exalted and munificent Powers That Be, have released the sacred incense and murmured the appropriate incantations in order to appease the Gods of Forum Loading Time. Chime in with any results -- good or bad, that you have noticed. And, yes, it IS the Ides of March!

I realize the gears have been grinding excruciatingly slowly on this, but they have been grinding, and are now, errrrr, ground! :hmm:

See FD esquared's forum announcement at the top of each forum. There's good news (help is on the way) and bad news (the forums will be down tomorrow from 6am until 1pm.)

May the grid be with us!

You sound smarter than the rest. Have them put you in charge.

Also, I have noticed when logged out everything loads extremely fast.

And yet, he happens to be completely off base on what the problems were.

And I was simply guessing. I figured if it was as simple as the web host crapping out, that would be fixed quickly and easily and it wouldn't have to drag out a year for a solution.

At any rate, it just took over a minute just to reload this page while logged in. When I was not logged in, it loaded up just fine. Obviously, the problem is not fixed yet. So if it's not the server host or hack bots, it must be software related.
