Forum suggestion - If problem is resolved, say so in topic?

This may be off topic or better in forum issues, but since it is only relavent to this forum, I am posting it here. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I browse through the tech support forums a few times a week trying to help people out and often times I come across a thread that has already been solved. Has anyone ever considered changing their topic to "FIXED" (eg. "FIXED - crash when dual booting Win98/2000&quot😉 so that everyone knows the person's problem has been resolved?

Just a suggestion

Edit: It seems like the general consensus is to add the word FIXED or something like that to the topic, in addition to maintaining the original topic name.

I see a lot of "nm" or "fixed" or whatever, and I do NOT know what the original thread was about. If people were to do this, they SHOULD leave the original title as intact as possible so others can search and see the thread. But "nm" or "fixed" by themselves are worthless and infuriating 🙂

I've always found that adding 'fixed', 'solved' or something similar at the end of the title works the best.

I agree that the original title should be left intact. Nothing is as annoying as a post with as title 'nm' or 'solved' 🙂

I agree. I have stumbled in here occassionally and given advice only to find out that the thread was never replied to again. I don't know if it was fixed or the guy is hunting me down because his system blew up.
