Yep, having the same combo of good speeds, then hangs, usually with dynamic.anandtech.com showing in the info bar.

For the love of freaking GOD please get rid of this fusetalk GARBAGE and go to a proper forum s/w like VBulletin! There are forums MUCH larger than this one that freaking FLY with Vbulletin.

Every time this upgrade process is done more things get broken. Really I swear it's like climbing out of a GD well and for every foot you gain you fall down six! :|

The speed is HORRIBLE! We have dual T1's on an Astrocom load balancer and every page freaking flies EXCEPT this site. This is intolerable!

As I recall, one or more of Anandtech staff has a close relation to Fusetalk. Thus the beta testing.

just did an edit of my last line for a typo right after it displayed and reposted. The post then displayed the quote box as source instead with something like "Begin blockquote ***text*** end blockquote>".
I edited again, deleting that stuff and replaced with bracket Q's. Could be a known bug

It's extremely bad today - pretty much the whole day I've logged on here the main forum page has taken forever to load. Even clicking the "reply" button right now left me waiting 30 seconds for this window to load.

I was always curious... what kind of servers and how many are they using for the site? I dont think it's an internet connection problem unless the new forums require more bandwidth. Obviously that's a more expensive upgrade then just upgrading the servers..

The following combination of clicks and typing took from 9:05AM to 9:14

www.forums.anandtech.com - Forum Issues - Technical Forum Issues - Forum speed is all over the place (page 2 link) - Reply - write this message - Reply to Topic

RIDICULOUS...yeah that's right. I used all caps.

Typing time for this post = 1.2ish minutes

Another note of terrible performance, it's been this way since the upgrade and irritating enough that I'm making fewer visits to the site as a result. Not sure if this matters in the great scheme of things but if others are doing the same and it's driving traffic away from your site and your paid advertisers it can't be a good business decision to let this drag on in perpetuity.

It kinda sounds like Anandtech is the QA testing for fusetalk which is very very bad. I'll be happy just as long as it gets fixed.

It took 3 minutes to load this page on a 74,000kbs (actual) connection. It will probably take 2 minutes to post.

What the hell guys? Go buy VBulletin!

I hope things get better real soon. I've went from spending hours on these forums per day to spending an hour or less, and that is mostly waiting on the damn thing to load.

being slow today...sometimes certain forums and topics don't load at all and some load after a while.

There is some work going on to try to fix some of the current problems.
