Having my post on Civ3 titled "My cat started a war with the French last night..." locked (almost immediately) simply because it mentioned going to war with the French. I was talking about a video game here mods....

*sigh*

i noticed. I dont agree with that lock at all.

You have idiots like iwearnosox to thank for that. If those like him were able to refrain from their idiotic French bashing we wouldn't be flooded with PM's from other users complaining about their absolute stupidity.

as with life, the few ruin it for the many. Thank you though Mod for some sort of reason.

I say get rid of all of that.
Get rid of Political Threads? They are the only threads on th9is forum that are worthwhile. 70% of the rest is utter nonsense...kind of like this thread:)

Yeah, I know. They are generally a good thing. The problem is that few people actually think about what they post. They're filled with

"George Bush = suk"
"...more moronic democat follies"
"Nuke North Korea"
"US am evil"

I dunno. Maybe not get rid of the threads, but "encourage" morons not to post. Maybe with prize vacation giveaways!

teh...for the love of all that is holy SPELL THE DAMN WORD THE

Also - I hate the new quote feature. It makes reading long threads a pain in the ass when people quote a 5 page post, and then add a sentence of their own and then another hundred people do it after them. Uhg!

I hate it when people post something stupid, reply to my reply, their thread gets locked, and I cant taunt them because they did not enable PMs.

I like the new quoting system, but I can't stand the morons who have to constantly quote. If you reply with a quote, edit the quote so the most important line is there.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say above. And "teh" is my own worst typo, it drives me nuts every time I do it. :)

If the statement was good enough, then it really doesn't need solidification.

I personally think people say it because they are too lazy to explain what they are talking about (or they don't know).

When people make threads that require an update and then don't put the update in the original post.

It gets me even more when they add, "update on page 2 somewhere."

Does that piss you off?

I would not say it pisses me off. Its rude and annoying.

EDIT: I did have to check mine to make sure it still conformed to the 4 lines or less rule ;)
