There are plenty of forums bigger than this one and have posts with hundreds of thousands of replies and are fast. This is not a software issue.

Gaiaonline is the largest forum and is blazing fast. I may have to join in a bit.

err, I am not advocating fusetalk... I was just telling Dr. Pizza the thread merge thing happened during Fusetalk reign.

I have still encountered slowness across all forums since the nef thread has been deleted. I hope the nef thread comes back once they correct whatever issue this is.

I haven't encountered slowness with these forums in months. On the other hand, I do encounter slowness with sites where I enable all ads and scripts. (I'd block fewer ads on this site if I didn't need AdBlock to block the picture resizing script.)

Do you all still encounter slowness if you install AdBlock and NoScript on Firefox?

then you were not here on several days because the forums were indeed slow. adblock on or off doesn't ever make a difference when the forums are acting up.

not the same kind of slowness dynamic2.anandtech.com causes.
