Something is messed up again.

Specifically the neffing thread. I wonder if we hit bottom?

Why does the neffing thread seem to do this quite often? Is it on a different server?

weird... I can't even go into advanced editor in that thread. everything else seems to be fine.

the usual suspects are still posting though, maybe it's just my account?

I'll try logout and login...

it has 8 billion posts, so it takes forever for the db query to run.

lmao! I just came over here to make a post about the neffing thread, and all three of the posters for that thread are right here in this thread. As it was noted that getting into the advanced edit was really slow in the neffing thread, and we've had earlier complaints about how slow some of the other long threads (just a few thousand posts) were, the question was raised, "could that thread with 98,000 posts possibly be a reason why the server is slow?"

So, temporarily at least, the neffing thread was moved to our recycle bin, at least til those more knowledgeable about the servers and forum software get a chance to chime in.

Amazing how you three seem to have come to the same possible conclusion, as you each posted in the "forum is slow" (nothing about the nef thread) thread.

I do recall that when viedit (or was it elfenix) and I rigged an earlier contest in the neffing thread - I merged a thread of a few hundred posts made just by the two of us into the neffing thread. That really slowed the forums down for about 60 seconds. But, I can't remember if that was under fusetalk, or whether it was after the switch to vB.

The strange part about the neffing thread is it didn't always lag 24/7. Granted I have not used it for very long, but it seemed to start lagging later in the evening. Yesterday during the daytime hours it worked perfectly.

The three of us are not the only regular posters, but I'd bet the rest will find this sooner or later. I was actually noticing recently only the advanced edit was working on the neffing thread, and quick reply was erratic.

I've also noticed the neffing thread is the slowest part, but that the entire forum is getting slower. It seems to me that the neffing thread tends to be the first to slow down, and the rest follows.

I believe it was you and ElFenix, and I'm quite certain it was back on FuseTalk. A great trick it was though. :p

Please no FT.

There are plenty of forums bigger than this one and have posts with hundreds of thousands of replies and are fast. This is not a software issue.

Gaiaonline is the largest forum and is blazing fast. I may have to join in a bit.

LOL one thread slowed the entire forum to a crawl?
Some employment changes need to be made with the server "admins".
Also shred that neffing thread and put it in the same place they store nuke waste and destroy the keys in acid.
