<< Haven't participated in these forums long, and just wondering on some of the terminology used in posts. For example, I just learned YGPM, LMK, etc. etc. Have a few others I'm unsure about:

OEM
BM

can anyone tell me what these stand for? Thanks for helping out a newb!
>>

OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer. Stuffs that come to you unbox. In most cases, you'll get it with just the drivers.

Bm?? I assume you mean B&M. Bricks and Mortar, the retail outlet itself. Like BestBuy B&M, the retail outlet of BB and not online.

OEM is used in many places and means "Original Equipment Manufaturer". Many people use OEM instead of OE (Original Equippment) when talking about parts. The part itself is an OE part, the company making the part is the OEM. Technically any ATI card is a card from an OEM since ATI also makes parts for original equipment in Dells and other pre-builts. However, an OE ATI card is usually a crippled version of the public-release cards even though both come from an OEM.

NCNE = No Certifications, No Education.

Only one person on the board uses that Sig...stick around long enough and you'll see who it is. 😀

OMG!!! OH NO! AIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! NOOOOOO!O!OO!O!!!!

A form of expression for every kind of shocking remarks you have. 🙂

Don't have to stick around that long to notice it. 😀

PICS - don't post here about topics about other people, especially women, unless you have pics to share with others.

<< RTFM = Read the fu**ing manual! :Q >>

I love that smiley 🙂

EDIT: Here's another one

TANSTAAFL: There Aint No Such Thing As A Free Lunch

STFU- shut the f**k up.

A long time ago, there was a member named "NEF." Guess what he specialized in?

OBO = Or Best Offer, but this is not just a "forum term". Read the used car classifieds in your local newspaper and you will see it many, many times. 🙂

YSOMD = you're standing on my d*ck

WWED = what would Eakers do?

TOTABC = this one time at band camp

STFTPHPBO = someone tell Fausto to put his pants back on

NAFR/E/A/PT = not another religion/evolution/abortion/politics thread!

😀

<< what is YMMV? >>

Your Mileage May Vary. Used in the HD forum alot...means it could work in some areas, could work in others. Like a manager accepting a return at store x, but a diff manager at store b not taking it back.
